Whilst looking for a decent site to join I came across a site for EM, somewhere in Yorkshire I recall. They said they accepted newbies and had a 00 layout for them to play trains before progressing. Suffice to say I enjoy playing trains even if it is code 100 and the stock isn't close coupled :D

Mine was either a Rivarossi, unknown type as it went awol (got nicked) or my Hornby 3 rail Duchess of Montrose, all presented one christmas on a board layout with station and paper machete tunnel with adjoining farm. Bit late coming into this post, my loft layout is a mix of chipboard and ply all topped off with cork sheet. The chipboard is mainly just suspended but the sound deadening is excellent. The 12 x 3 ft of ply is braced centrally and also at 12in intervals along the length and could maybe do with a bit...
