I must say MG I commend you for the work you are putting in. It is brilliant work. Watching the progress and enjoying the every step of the way. That is what I call railway modelling. I could not do that.............john

Re: Triang/Hornby Stephensons Rocket

Did you ever solve the poor running on Peco Points. If not why don't you reduce the flanges down. It is quite easy to take a mm off the flanges and reduce the flange back a tad if needed. You can do it with a drill preferably using a slower speed and fine files. I have reshaped old Triang wheel flan...

Re: Morley Controllers

I have not heard of any problems. Why don't you try to telephone them. If nobody answers the phone I would get in touch with your bank and try to cancel the purchase and go get a Gaugemaster equivalent model they are both as good as each other I would say. Gaugemaster come with life guarantee and th...

Re: Is this shop & its Products any good?

Track gauge is 45 mm which is based on one metre gauge used in Germany I believe at a guess I think the loco would be about 4" high at a guess. Expect somebody who knows more than I will be along later.

Re: Is this shop & its Products any good?

I don't have one of these but the chap seems to have good feedback and good things said about the loco bought by customers. If I was going to have a garden railway I would buy one as a good starter loco for German railway It seems simple enough and seems easy similar to the radio control used on mod...

Re: Night Mail

Good evens Royal Mail Glen, well well, so you were with The post Office nearly as long as my Dad. He was at Little Britain most of that time. It is a small world. I drove HGV for about 20yrs myself The Fire engines were the most fun to drive. But I did draw the line at multi drop that is just plain ...

Re: Night Mail

Depots can be moved and systems can change. That is a fact. If it is going to be cheaper for Royal to go back to railways they will. And with the prospect of oil fuels costing huge sums of money in the future because the government will tax it to the hilt because of pollution and climate change.

Re: Night Mail

I remember back in the early 90s we attended an RTA on the A127 Laindon. It was late at night and mid winter very cold a good few inches of snow on the ground and roads were like ice rink. When we arrived we found that a Royal Mail lorry had left the dual Carriageway and crossed over a grass verge t...

Re: Night Mail

Thanks for telling us what is going on with the old Mail coaches Bufferstop.. Seeing them picking up and dropping off bags would be great fun. I wonder if post movement by train will ever come back. In these days of electric trains just think how much improvement that would be taking thousands of di...

Re: Wanton Vandalism of layouts

Well I must say Bufferstop that is nice to hear. Knowing the spare cash collected from kind donors will be passed on to help other clubs is great news and will I am sure give the donors assurance that their money donated has been used in the best possible way. Nice to hear...............John
