Delboy’s workbench

On my workbench I have started work on a small diorama, the size is 24cms x 11cms. The theme of my diorama will be about 1 loco and 1 wagon shunting coal to a coal staithe.

Re: Halt station diorama

Hi TimberSurf thanks for your comments, I like your diorama build great modelling throughout. I thought I would build a small working diorama and I’m thinking about building stick for extra shunting space.

Re: At Locomotion, Shildon 26th May 2019

Hi Glencairne the locomotion at Shildon is one of my favourite haunts. I often when off work have a walk around the museum. Great pictures.
Shildon will be hosting the model railway exhibition this coming Saturday and Sunday with many layouts and trade stands.

Re: Halt station diorama

All interesting stuff Mountain I like the ideas of using fishing wire to operate the points.
Thanks for the comments, the outer shape is interesting but all the corners will be filled to produce small banked areas with static grass and shrubs.

Re: Halt station diorama

The holes are to reduce the weight before I start the scenery. Some places the holes will add depth. The track was made using Peco code 100 rails salvaged from 00 gauge track which was soldered onto PCB sleepers which I cut from PCB boards. Sorry for all the questions but thanks for explaining Moun...

Re: Halt station diorama

Hi this morning I managed to shape and complete the outer woodwork to my diorama. As you can see the tall parts of the frame will have a bridge going from one side of the diorama to the other.

Thanks Mountain for the comments. I like your layout, is all the track hand built and can I ask what the holes are for on the baseboard. :)

Re: Price of a Hobby

Hi Gerald I like the model railway exhibition and fairs as you can speak to fellow modellers and you know most of the locos and wagons they have for sale are nicely run in a little used but not abused.

Re: Halt station diorama

It's a good way to start before committing to a larger project. Gives you the opportunity to use all the skills required on a smaller scale. Looks an interesting project. I will follow with interest. Pete (RailwayRobbo) Hi Pete I won’t be able to model a larger project due to the lack of space but ...
