The whole portal is a photo inside the grey brick surround. I've painted the road surface with the same paint as the flat surface where it meets. Two vehicles to hide the join.
I've done the same at the other end of the layout and blended a superquick engine shed to creat the 3D appearance.

More backscene blending

Digitrains was solely new stock and had a lot of electronic pieces but also stocked many locos and...

Re: More eBay nonsense...........
Not tarnishing all with the same brush. I wouldn't use it as they messed me around with a refund for an item and had some dodgy bloke from Nigeria trying to buy an item I was selling offering me double the price!! Yeah right no thanks

Re: General Qs
I ballasted with n gauge ballast for 00 gauge track, finer, easier to spread and looks better. I spreaded with a small brush then 50/50 pva to water plus a squirt of washing up liquid. Applied it in a syringe, left to dry 48 hours. Wouldn't do it any other way

Re: Backscene blending success
You don't necessarily need to blend it. For me it's just as I have a road disappearing at both ends..here's a couple of picks of how I've blended the other end and how it runs parallel

Re: Backscene blending success
That looks really good. I've obscured it from the other angle with a well positioned tree. Unsure of the viva plate! I think your odds are short on royaltys !!
