Re: Scale confusion.

Many thanks for your comments.
It would look good in a open mine setting, or as suggested, good for digging a canal.

I should get a reply from Baoblaze tomorrow, so I will see what they say. If there is no refund, I may have to think about a change to incorporate it....

Re: Scale confusion.

Hi Dad 1. Thanks for your reply. I take your point about the tree, so are you saying the scale of this is right? I still have it, but to me it seems over scale. It dwarfs an Oxford JCB, although not too bad against a Pickfords removal van. I think it will have to go, as maybe it was a bad choice.

Scale confusion.

I ordered one of these, for my layout. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Fenteer-Caterpillar-Tower-Cable-Excavator/dp/B07DFLZDS8 It says it's HO scale, so it should have fitted in nicely, although a little smaller than 00 gauge. It arrived today, and it's huge... Although the measurements didn't look too bad...

Brick paper

Please can anyone tell me, which Metcalf brick papers match their PO282 warehouse? It has been a bit difficult to find one, as they are closed, along with many other manufacturers. Finding anything is hit and miss, as most are out of stock. Hoping this will end soon.... I received two lorries from M...

Re: help with building size

I have now made the Dapol Station Booking Hall. There are no dimensions on their site. So length over gents toilet = 140mm. Depth of main building = 50mm. Depth including awning = 76mm. This is a very nice model, and the only difficulty was fitting the awning. It is supposed to fit under the roof ed...

Re: help with building size

Hi Bufferstop. A quick measure around the Dapol detached house, makes the garage about 15ft x 8ft. The lounge about 18ftx 10ft, and it would have a very small kitchen. So I don't think i'll move in yet, but not bad for about a fiver... The 4 wheel coach has a new chassis from a VDA bought cheap from...

Re: help with building size

I have finished the Dapol detached house. Everything fitted together very well, and it looks good. The semi detached house will be next. I have also built a Dapol four wheel coach, which was a Christmas present. This was not so easy. Age and Parkinsons made it a very fiddly job. There is no hope of p...

Re: help with building size

Hi Bordershed. Thanks for trying. I looked at card kits, but these look little better. I was hoping to make a low relief building, but it would be difficult to cut down. They are not built yet, and I am painting them before assembly. It's somewhere for the railway people to live, and I have room to ...

Re: help with building size

I can now answer my own question. These buildings arrived this morning.

The detached house W=10cm. D= 8cm. The walls are a rendered finish.
The pair of semis are W= 15.3cm D= 9.5cm. These walls are a smooth finish. I hope this may be useful to someone.
