Re: Free Age of Steam Sound Effects

A little mystified; it's "free" claim redirects one directly to purchase some sort of "Data Shield." I am not interested in purchasing it, but seem forced to do so if I should proceed. Have I misunderstood?

Re: Attempting a scenic cut through hills, advice welcomed.

A fine bit of art there, Lancastrian. Is that to be the final color? If so, may I suggest a desert scene? That looks quite like where I live In El Paso, Texas? The current effort is beginning to resemble Wales or Scotland, a venue I enjoy, none the less. I used polyester padding to try to round out ...

Re: Canford Quay

Superb. It is rather nice to know that there is some precedent for cobbled quay side tracks. I opted for bricks in my stab at this, having no real knowledge to credit or discredit the concept.

Attempting a scenic cut through hills, advice welcomed.

Trying to model something like this: istockphoto-603995344-1024x1024.jpg 20230126_003248.jpg 20230126_003153.jpg Having to add more layers to round out the crinkles in the surface. British hills are not crinkly, they are smooth and round. Stephenson was famous for his cuts through hills, not sure wh...

Things turn up where you least expect them. Henley: where model British rail and medieval history meet. In no particular order.

Re: Hornby's 1840 Lion Centennial Pack: does it get better than this?

The couplings, as you know, are a bit of flexible plastic. The rigidity of the plastic can lift the adjoining wheel set of the rails. With a little tinkering at bending the coupling, i managed to get them behave. Another option would be to get a fine bit of chain, like that used in costume jewelry, ...

Hornby's 1840 Lion Centennial Pack: does it get better than this?

https://youtu.be/Ur6PoubOUr8 A (mercifully) brief video of Hornby's Lion. It is a supreme effort by this hallowed model train company. We took some video during her maiden voyage, taking care to gently break her in both directions, at my friend, Crusty's, home. Crusty is a delightful chap who is app...

What if the railways of antiquity produced movie trailers to advertise their wares? Regrettably, the DMU got away from me on this one, and
should not appear. Still, just revise the date to 1930 something, and all the locomotives were still in service.

Re: Pushed For Space... Very Micro.

That is impressive performance. Application of carbon dust to the rails also facilitates this kind of micromovement, so one wonders
if the track was thusly treated. Never the less, TT is the "Goldilocks" scale, but it arrived much too late for my party.
