Re: Great Central station - Scenecraft 44-119

Hi Bigmet, that station layout would certainly be different, but no something I can do without some serious reworking of the base boards. MarkS&D, Scalescenes was one of the companies I'd found, but engineers blue brick seems to vary quite a bit between model companies. Metcalfe it seems to actu...

DPD fail...

I've not been in a position to purchase anything railway related for a while, and had to cancel my pre-orders for other things. Got made redundant, and thought I'd treat myself to a few bits, so I ordered a Bachmann B1, Hornby Lemberg, in black, and a Scenecraft Great Central station high level entr...

Re: Great Central station - Scenecraft 44-119

Sorry for the slow reply. Yes it was the island platforms on the GCR at Loughborough, Quorn and Rothley that gave me the idea to change my layout. However to accommodate my needs, I need 2 twin track width road over rail bridges, and not the single track bridges that are available. I think I'm eithe...

Great Central station - Scenecraft 44-119

Hi, I was wondering if anyone here has used the Scenecraft 44-119 Great Central high level station entrance? If so, how have you got it set up? I really like the look of it, and it would fit in perfectly for my station plans, but the bridges available with it are only single track, and I need double...

Re: Layout in progress - Name undecided

A small amount of progress, I've lifted the track at the old station, and quite a bit more either side to accommodate the planned changes. I've roughly laid out the track for the new station, though I haven't left enough space between the track and the shed wall to fi in the bridge that had been pla...

Re: Layout in progress - Name undecided

Well I didn't realise it had been quite this long since I did an update to this. The 3D printing hobby that was started as a way of creating my own scenery for far less than retail, and scaling it to exactly what I wanted, really took over as my main hobby. So, the live steam has gone, it was good, ...

Was that from their website? I could do with a new power lead too, had to glue the plug back together on mine after the tags broke

Re: Hattons closing down

Everything 'must go!' by 4 Feb according to latest email from Hattons. Sounds like that the final day of operation so if you have your eye on anything, better be quick. I saw that announcement on Facebook, but there's not a lot left now, not in OO gauge anyway, seemed to mostly be pre-owned stock, ...

...Or you could buy a large online retailer in the US with it, which I don't think has been mentioned on here yet Since the purchase in November last year I have been wondering why, and now: I am increasingly of the opinion that the purchase of MB Klein is a move to a location where the immediate f...

2024 Range

Has anyone else had a look at the 2024 range? There's a few bits I'm interested in. The P2 with smoke and sound looks good, and the B1 Mayflower. I do like the early railways releases they are doing too. This years S&DR Locomotion will definitely be on my buying list, and good to see they are se...

Hattons closing down

I've just seen an announcement on their Facebook page that Hattons will be winding down business and closing in the near future, though no date has been decided. Announcement can be found here: https://www.hattons.co.uk/closure?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=closingdownan...

Re: What did Santa bring you?

And how does your Lion go? Roars along by any chance? Haha, not quite, more of a gentle purr, only used on the rolling road, its quiet and smooth, but low speed control isn't great. Sadly Hornby have used the same moulded chain couplings, the same as on the Stephensons rocket, which are fiddly. But...

Re: Bachmann V1

I got one of these for Christmas, only run it in on the rolling road so far, but its lovely, smooth and quiet. I'll have to order a decoder for it next month, but which time the track should be back in action and I can give it a proper test.

What did Santa bring you?

So what railway related things did everyone get for Christmas this year?
For me, it was another couple of locos, which have been the kick in the behind I needed to get back out to the shed and do some more work to the railway.

Re: Anyone currently buying?

Hattons had a very good offer on the Rapido 'Lion', but I missed it, then remembered seeing a comment on Facebook, someone commenting on the hattons advert wondering if the offer was in reply to Hornby's half price 'Lion'. On to the Hornby website and Lion was purchased, on a little more than the Ra...
