Re: Matt's workbench

Hi all, Here's my completed (but as yet unpainted) Dapol 35 ton tanker wagon. I think the effort with some plastic rod, strip and sheet, plus the replacement buffers and ladders make all the difference! Re: Matt's workbench

Cracking weathering there. I'm always tempted to start another wagon as soon as I have one running. Painting can be such a drag, you have to wait until dry and I can be quite impatient !! Geoff T. Thank you! I actually enjoy painting but, with a baby in the house, I can't do much at the moment. Thi...

Re: Matt's workbench

That reminds me. I have many couplings and buffers to finish off on my waggons. Is a case of my mind saying "They're easy to make and fit" so I leave them to another day and then find I have so many to do that it will take aa solid day of two to complete the work. Its all fun! I have to s...

Re: Dad-1 - Workbench - West Bay Wagon Works

Nice work on the Parkside brakevan - I've been pondering one of these myself but don't know if I can justify it!

Whose transfers are you using for the Conflat?

Re: Matt's workbench

Progress has slowed now I'm back at work but I've found time to add the brake levers, which are a combination of kit and Parkside parts grafted together. I've also added some discs of plastic in strategic places - not prototypical but to hide rough spots! IMG_20180803_172112642.jpg IMG_20180803_1720...

Re: Matt's workbench

Thank you so much for your kind comment!

Brakevan still needs a little more finishing off and a coat of matt varnish, once I've managed to source markings which is proving difficult.

Re: Matt's workbench

Thank you both very much for your comments Very good. I think I'm at a similar stage though slightly advanced on where you are. I have track on my boards. :D I like the stock you have. You have been very patient building or converting those. Very nice. This is why modelling short trains works for me...

Matt's workbench

Hi all, I'm slowly building a layout (well I've built the baseboard) but have not laid any track yet so is that classed as a layout?!. I'll start a topic on it soon. In the meantime I've been working on a variety of stock projects. My layout is a micro so running 10 coach express trains is nev...

Re: Peco electrofrog points

Thanks for the comments.

Am I better off swapping my Gaugemaster motors for Peco ones and then using the PM13 (I think) switches with them for simplicity do you think?

Re: Peco electrofrog points

Thanks for the replies all. I've bought Gaugemaster PM10's to use. Are these compatible with the Peco switch?

I should also have said I'm using DC only.

Peco electrofrog points

Hi all, Looking for some advice please. I'm using electrofrog points for the first time and have some questions about installing them. I've read all sorts and watched numerous videos online but am still a bit confused. I don't feel confident enough in wiring up for frog polarity switching to be hone...
