Arrrrggghh having a nice running session with the 37 then problems over the points. What the ????? Aha... Wire broken off from bogie pickup, another care full removal of the body, drop down bogie and solder back on. Fixed and working well. Think a soldering iron is a must have for us.

Had a bit of a 'hic-cup' with the phoenix class 37. It stuttered a little while going up through the speed steps and I could see the interior cab light flickering as this was happening and no, not down to dirty track or wheels etc. Now I have picked up somewhere be it you tube or in here, that anoth...

Now I hope its starting to get warmer, may get round to scenery ballast etc, but in the mean time heres the overall look and remember the track at the far edge is just the programming track. but I just happened to have it around for a long time. However others have done the same using plasticard or foamboard which I think you can get from 'Hobbycraft' stores

Hi dan8400 its done with two pieces of thick card, first piece is cut to fit between the sleepers and I pin it in place with track pins, then second piece is cut to fit between the rails and that is stuck on top of first piece with card glue. OK, have painted the whole base board in a what I hope will be a neutral grey to help when ballast etc is added, so I painted up to as near I could to the track, (which was fun). Yes thanks Dan thats what I do, yet to find an EWS with anything Freightliner so won't be doing that too. They all pull containers however but I only have a small layout so don't have the room for a decent length container train.

I too lost a decoder because I wrapped it in tape, ran well for about 15 mins then stopped and I got error message. Now I if I have to protect the chip I cover what it might touch instead of the chip.
