Re: DCC Power supply.

Hi Suzie, I looked into it a bit more, and when I googled, I found you Suzie explaining about DC and the Lenz. Then over this weekend past I have sourced an NCE P514, in the USA for a great price. I will do as you suggest about spacing out across the length. I have also decided that I am going to ru...

Re: 2ft x 6ft in 0n30 (That's 7mm narrow gauge to us in the UK)

I must have had a Senior's moment earlier. Sitting here working on the plan, I realised I made a mistake. I guess like the UK, boards are sold by size 4 X 8, here 1.2 X 2.4. I always have difficulty converting. I will be putting down a maximum 22.5 radius. That equals 571.5mm. I am not sure how to c...

Hi Mountain, I am always impressed with small industrial On30 railways. Their subject, form and technical expertise in craming so much into such a small space. The skills of being able to modify or construct your own everything is so impressive. I live (sleep) in a caravan in the garden. Here in NSW...

Hi Sir H, I look forward to seeing some pics as you go! OO9 has fascinated me for life, but as I've got older, my dexterity with small items has become a bit of a problem. Can I ask, what size base board are you planning on? Pete.

Hi Suzie,

I want to thank you for your informative post. Things are somewhat clearer in my head. I have found 15V 5amp. I'll try to find something less.

Pete.

Re: Gem Baldwin

Thread lock glue or my favourite silicone, or nail varnish or a small nylon lock nut. Probably totally useless and of no help.

Re: DCC Power supply.

HI RFS, I really like the idea of using the LZV to run the trains, and the LV102 for points and signals. ON30 is more or less OO with O bodies. I'm still finalising the plans but I think so far It is likely to be around the 30 points mark. Being Narrow gauge I'm not going to have big stations. I wil...

Re: Hi from Australia

Hi RainyNight, It's a rainy night here! I'm afraid I know nothing about either Broad or Standard Gauge Locos, and nothing about diesels except how the engine works. I checked out https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/V/Line. I live in 2710 ( with an 03 Victorian telephone prefix) This is because the freight...

Re: Hi from Australia

Hi, So far the only adverts here tend to be ON30. 7mm is more English. 7MM is generally I think more understood by older English people Again the bulk of whats available is the Bachmann line. The NA class I've put a deposit on is more G scale price!!!Before DCC and Sound are added it's $496, where a...

Re: Hi from Australia

Hi Everyone, Thanks for the welcome. Thanks for the Hattons Link. The 10% helps may help but I've been cheeky and asked for VAT free. I don't see why I should pay it, what with Brexit and the Conservatives. I'm going to with the Smart Switch technology for the DCC/PC control. The selling G scale Exc...

DCC Power supply.

Hi, I'm in the process of changing from G Scale to ON30. So I'm selling my 18VAC Power supply(6 amps) along with 2 X 20VAC power supplies (5 amps each). I run with Lenz DCC. In G I linked my Lenz together to get 10amps to the track. In ON30 I want to run everything on DCC, Points(Turnouts), Lights, ...

Insul V Electro

Hi, I'm in the process of selling my G scale and going to ON30. In G it's relatively simple. However in ON30 I want to use Electro frog points. I just want to get it clear in my mind. I also prefer to Communicate with a real human bean, as opposed to online or a piece of paper. Based on people's own...

Re: Digital power

I love soldering. I used to work for Motorola UK, before I saw the light and moved here, NSW Australia, or Austria if you are an American. I've been soldering track in G Gauge so I use a 400Watt iron, perhaps overkill like Madmax. Actually I own 7 irons from 25 watts upwards, and a Variable Temp con...
