Re: Inverkeilor 1950 to the end of steam

I am just trying to do some youtube vids, I shall try and do one of a delivery/collection, a picture is better than all those words.
Here's one I did the other day.

A view of the station down platform and yard with the two level loading platform, the signal box is the wrong one and will be replaced, it is being robbed of parts for other projects.

Re: Hi from NE Scotland

Thanks, just started a new thread about the build, quite enjoying it, the surgery was just key hole to remove a troublesome gall bladder, but things are better now thanks.

This next image shows the bridge near to completion, it is made using a modified kit that will require weathering and finishing. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48300070602_22ba130e9d_c.jpg DSC02581 by tigerburnie , on Flickr This image is looking north through the station https://live.staticfli...

Inverkeilor 1950 to the end of steam

I am a few weeks into this new build, made in my old summer house for easier access, this consists of a double main line loop with a 4 road fiddle/storage yard for each loop. Peco track re cycled from my old Leicester Great Central layout, but this is DCC wired to allow locos with sound to be used. ...

Re: Great Central in and around Leicester

As I remarked elsewhere, this layout has been dismantled and is being recycled into an ECML layout of the same period, but in a new location.

Re: Hi from NE Scotland

Hello again, just a bit of an update, after minor surgery, I have realised that clambering around in the loft was getting no easier, so with some regret the GC layout has been dismantled and a new DCC layout is under construction in a large old summer house in the garden. Much easier to access, unle...

Re: Great Central in and around Leicester

Thanks Jim, I was lucky enough to grow up close to this part of the line, hence me modelling it and from a modelling point of view, a great line to run as there was such a variety of trains and locos pulling them. I am working in the period 1955 to 1965, so this will allow all sorts of modelers lice...

Re: Great Central in and around Leicester

Just a post to let you know I'm still here, but with the heat of the summer, no modelling done for a while, some more station canopies ordered to progress that and I've started looking for rolling stock additions too. Did run all the loco's round the other week when the grand children came for a loo...
