Re: New / Old - Little Weldon

Hello all A little bit of HD Duchess history, which I have gained from the Bible of all things Hornby Dublo, Mike Fosters Hornby Dublo Trains. The original model that Meccano made of the Duchess was No 6231 D of Atholl in LMS livery. Which first became available to buy in the Spring of 1948 this ver...

Re: New / Old - Little Weldon

Hello all Another newbie joins the locomotive roster at Little Weldon. IMG_20190911_053004.jpg This is a replica of the HD Duchess 1215. No 1218 has been made from a very battered Duchess of Atholl as were the factory produced model's. The original CP Duchesses were produced for export only, therefo...

Re: Cheap Flock

Hello all
All of Little Weldon's grass consists of dyed sawdust of various different greens mixed with finely minced foam. I have also used different coloured sands, sieved. Along with real crushed coal in the yard. The ballast was shop bought.

Hi Josh Sorry to hear about your Grandfather, I hope that the medical teams will make it as easy for him as possible. I can understand your desire to help financially with the purchase of his tools. Having space available for your future railway is good. I completely get young Williams desire to run...

Re: Scenic items on ebay

Hello all
That's an interesting way to gather together the cost of moulds and materials. The Gravestone mould would be a good one to choose.

Re: New / Old - Little Weldon

Hello all This month is of great interest to us Hornby Dublo fans, for way back in 1938's September Meccano Magazine is a full advert for a new range of models. 2-First-Dublo-advert-225x300.jpg Next month will see Dublo in the shops for the first time. Amongst my collection I do have a few items fro...

Re: Linka

Alas I only have 1 of this mould. Which is a shame because most of my Castle is constructed using the castings from this particular mould. I did get production casting working well though.

Hello Josh
I just keep on having to have a look at the Lord Oliver what a fantastic photo. I can just imagine a foaming pint of ale sitting there for me. I take my hat off to you.

Re: New / Old - Little Weldon

Hello all Thanks very much for your kind words gentlemen. This is really un-canny I have just been looking at Lemmington. Come back to Weldon and Josh is here. I must admit there wasn't quite enough space for all that I wanted to incorporate into the Castle build. I hope to start with the painting o...

Re: New / Old - Little Weldon

Hello all Thank you very much for your kind words heda. Other than an experimental low relief set of Terrace housing, this is my first actual project. I must admit though I have really enjoyed the experience the possibilities seem to be endless. With a very wide range of moulds commercially availabl...

Re: Hi from NE Scotland

Welcome back burnie. Sorry to hear of your surgery. Hopefully a full recovery is on the cards. I'm sure some railway modelling will help. A Summer house sounds like the ideal location for a layout. Particularly with the summer we have been having this year. Looking forward to some more posts about y...
