Re: Relco Track Cleaner

Here are two official Relco instructions, one with a suppressor and one with a capacitor?

Im also confused by the bypass switch as current will flow from one track terminal to the other without a 16v input?

Re: Relco Track Cleaner

Damp your fingers and put them across the track. If you get a sharp fizz in your fingers, its working. I honestly say that my track stayed so much cleaner when I stopped using mine. I found they just burned dirt onto the track and loco wheels, making them so much harder to clean. Not sure I fancy a...

Re: Very slow Class 08

The 08 and the class J83 come as Mixed Freight Digital Train Set, both frames are the same and it looks the same as yours except there chipped for DCC. Performance at slow speed is "OK" but they both can run stupidly fast. It's funny that the Jinty runs over points better than the 08 no m...

Re: Very slow Class 08

Here is a picture of it naked (over 18s only!) I bought in a second hand bundle, wheels and contacts cleaned up. I can remove the motor unit but can't see how to get the plastic frame off if I was to clean the brushes. I think it's a toy version as it was with with Dinosafari set. Thanks for advice ...

Tyre change on Class 08 Shunter

Hi
I have a Hornby (Made in China) Class 08 Dinosafari Shunter which needs 2 new tyres. How do I remove the rods to get full access to the wheels?

Thanks

Re: Relco Track Cleaner

Hi I've wired it up perfectly and the loco runs and the Relco gets warm (apparently they can get up to 40'c under normal operation) but the orange led doesn't come on under any circumstances. Without the orange led is there any easy way to tell if the Relco works? It's been in storage for 20 years. ...

Re: Hornby Lights with Guagemaster Power Supply

Buy a power buck off ebay. Less than 2 quid. You can vary the output voltage to whatever you want (I suggest 9v as flashbang says to prolong bulb life. clicky Excellent advice. I got an AC->DC converter and a buck with potometer built in all for about a fiver on ebay and I now have a perfect output...

Hornby Lights with Guagemaster Power Supply

Hi
Not sure if I’m being over cautious but Im digging out my Hornby lights, put in new bulbs and they work well.

My main layout is powered by a Guagemaster and these are 16v. Should I use a resistor to create a 12v curcuit for the Hornby lights?
