Track overload - mosfet switching ?

Hi, Have a simple current overload circuit which works well, but its uses a relay which seems to affect the dcc micro circuit at times. Was thinking it might be better to use a mosfet, but not sure if if it needs one of each line and if they should be both N or N and a P ? Can anyone advise please. ...

Re: Wordsworth Card Kits - FREE downloads

Try other PDF readers, those that claim simplicity of use, often lack the ability to get the sizing correct. For a time the original Adobe PDF reader gave poor scaling, but they seem to have addressed the problem and the last few releases have been ok. There are so many alternatives I haven't bothe...

Re: Wordsworth Card Kits - FREE downloads

Hi All, Re my recent printer question, a friend has all but given me their HP1510 inkjet as its not wireless and they don't like messing with cables. After buying a new black cartridge it sprang into life and quiet like the output it produces. However it has raised a little problem that I could not ...

Re: Wordsworth Card Kits - FREE downloads

Hi, Thanks for the comments, have been looking at these two Epsons which seem to get decent reviews but ironically not on Epsons own site ?! They are available locally for £35 and £40 and seem competitive ink wise and using separate colours. Seem the 345 has a faster print speed , 10% heavier and a ...

Re: Wordsworth Card Kits - FREE downloads

Hi, Have looked though a few pages of this massive thread and would like to use these designs, but only have a mono laser printer. There are several sub £30 inkjet printers /all in one from Cannon and HP etc, but do wonder how good they would print these sheets ? Can you share your experiences as to...

Re: Points mimic board

Sounds like a job for a Raspberry! Hi, Only just getting into Arduino C++ , never mind trying to learn Python ! :) Plus have always thought the Pi a bit of a con, the Arduino you just need the board and a usb cable and your are off, the Pi you have got to find a keyboard, mouse , power supply, moni...

Re: 00 Points choice..?

Trackshack are usually very quick on despatch and prices are quite good - postage varies but does show up in the basket before you place your order (unlike some other suppliers who consequently never get an order from me). https://www.track-shack.com/ A code 75 live frog double slip is £37 from the...

Re: Flex Track 00

The track will be fixed down, and can use the old parts as a template, so will give it a try. Just wasn't sure if with flex track there was a radius where you say beyond that is too much like hard work. Been looking as some ytubes and seems they use a block shaped tool to help form the curves into t...

Flex Track 00

Hi,

Just a basic newbie question, we are rebuilding an old setup and have found some of the 2nd and 3rd radius curves rather messed up.

Is it practical / easy enough to replace the semi circles with Peco flex track, which seems a lot cheaper or best to buy new set track pieces ?

thanks

Points mimic board

Hi, Just starting to resurrect a friends old 00 dcc layout, 8x4, which has a diy 4 channel dcc controller and a micro based points controller for up to 11 solenoid operated points. Seems you can now get some 3.5" displays quiet cheaply and wondered if they could be used as a mimic board to show...

Re: 00 Points choice..?

Thanks both, As said, seems I need to do a lot more detailed layout planning ! :) Just printed out all the Pecos points plans as find baseboard planning easier than Scarm, though expect I will get used to it with practice. Thanks for the heads up on the Crossings being available in code 75 Elecrofro...

00 Points choice..?

Hi All, Newbie here :) A few years ago I helped a friends lad set up a simple 00 DCC system and he used Peco insulfrog small radius points for most of the layout but he soon found they gave lots of problems with the locos stopping or the larger wheeled locos shorting things out, even worse when he a...
