Re: help on peco hunslet?

If i might add a couple of comments here, the Kadee couplers are a H0 scale intended item, that look almost as authentic as the real thing, easily adapted to 00 , or 0-16-5,as they are more realistic than tension couplers. you need to use, after some research, the `whisker` coupling, in various lengt...

Re: 2ft x 6ft in 0n30 (That's 7mm narrow gauge to us in the UK)

Glad to see PNP`s porter is sorted for running reliably, Obviously proving to be a pricey experiment ? Thanks for passing the bits left! So i received 3 kits from Simon of Slimrails , and they look really good quality, looking forward to building them, I also got 4 bogies from Peters spares, and a 0-...

Re: Sound fitted Diesels

No, A printer is pointless for 10 t0 20 tiny things like this.It is only 8mm wide 2.8mm deep, etc. make a few with styrene sheet, and use whisker Kaydee for the future.Apparently Kaydee are stopping production of a lot of couplings, in a similar way Bachmann are discontinuing 0n30 for some reason. b...

Re: Sound fitted Diesels

Yes , Bigmet, What i am looking for is like this, from Dcc or somewhere, but nobody has stock. it is for 00 -h0 rolling stock with Kaydee, all have the box for a `swallow tail` type fitting. i am using it for 0n30. something like this. https://www.dccsupplies.com/cat-591/symoba-nem-conversions.htm t...

Re: Sound fitted Diesels

I also attended East Grinstead, (with my son, he is getting interested,at 45! ) we thought it was a pleasant show, I had a nice chat to Peter Jackson,of 7mm narrow gauge association, mostly about Kaydee couplings ! So the 0n30 little layout was nice to see again ,shows what can be done in a small sp...

Re: Mutter mutter.

Hi Mountain, It is not that simple to change the coupling ,the Loco has a long whisker coupler Kaydee, and it runs in a slot in the rear of the body between buffers. Anyway i prefer to keep the loco`s original in case i sell off later. the idea is to build a short wood tender on a 00 bogy behind the...

Re: Mutter mutter.

Good morning Pete, thanks for your efforts about these NEM pockets. I am afraid that they are not in stock at Peters spares, and not known when in stock, the same story with Symoba ,who also have no stock. And most shops do not hold spares,or at least not nem bits. The box i wanted is a NEM362 coupli...

Re: Mutter mutter.

End2end ,yes i have been to a few,,the shows i find are better than `sales` they are normally quite small, but i go to ones nearish to me, I was impressed with the show at the Brighton centre a few years ago, and also at Bu...

Mutter mutter.

I know i am a newbe , having returned to model rail after 30 years! But i am a bit frustrated with the lack of response from almost every business i have Emailed for stock enquiries ordering. It is not always convenient to drive 30 miles to my nearest shop, ( i exclude the Bluebell shop, not a great...

Re: Simple or Complex?

An interesting subject, different views always are i think. My interest is that railway`s are there for a purpose, to make life easier for people, without whom there is no railway? so for me ,it is part and parcel of the hobby, a railway has to have purpose, they were never built for fun, until mode...

Re: 2ft x 6ft in 0n30 (That's 7mm narrow gauge to us in the UK)

OUCH ! I received my loco today, the same one as PNP, It is a mostly metal body, quite heavy, 2 spare chimneys, and DCC, well packed in a pretty box, like most Bachmann stuff. I would be pleased, but for the cost! £42 for the loco on a special, then copped for £32.86 postage, then this end a further...

Re: 2ft x 6ft in 0n30 (That's 7mm narrow gauge to us in the UK)

That looks like a Bachmann Porter in your first video - which coincidentally I have just purchased from Train World in the US - it seemed a bargain at $59.99 DCC-fitted, though postage and possible customs charge will push that up. I'll then attempt to Anglicise it somewhat with a new cab and proba...

Re: reversing loop on a single track?

Lots of interesting solutions here! , I have now started to understand a few shortcomings on my idea`s , but following advice from Flashbang, the IRDOT p system will work, and appears good value too, they also show several types of systems in DC and DCC. http://www.heathcote-electronics.co.uk/revers...
