from my own experience.... pacers..awful voyagers...awful...noisy...smelly...windows out of line class 158...nice looking but feel cramped class 175...brilliant...lovley smooth running feel spacious.......cant wait to go back on em again in Wales in august class 170...liked em smooth running comfort...

no i did the walk opposite the lake but over the hills....and then did the railway in the afternoon....was about 8 mile round trip but the ground was very boggy in parts and some of it has been fenced off and some seem to have been fenced off by the farmer lol....so was probabaly aboput 15 miles aft...

I don't know, its a weird place. Its all grey and gloomy, many of the buildings always look dingy and depressing. Then theres the locals... The mining history is interesting though. Or maybe its just me :) known for its rain.....think they are all old miners cottages......streets are a pain to driv...

enjoy Tim...time it right and you can get some decent trains through there....although not like the good old days from my youth holidays ..sidings were buszzing with locos...now its the cinema i think :cry:

Great pics (again!). I'd agree with you, the Tal y Llyns my favourite too, the staff are great there.. Runs from Tywyn to Abergynolwyn........ Did you carry on all the way to Nant Gwernol, as there are some lovely walks from there? sorry Tom..my mistake :oops: :oops: we did go to the end at Nant Gw...
