Re: Led Lighting problem
RAF, The 80mA is correct as I forgot to mention that the 10 such rated lamps are filament bulbs and not LEDs. I should also make things more clear. After installing the 30LEDs two of them had the same problem. I contacted the supplier who sent me replacements. One now works properly, the other has t...

Led Lighting problem
I am looking for some assistance with an LED lighting problem. I have 40 LED lights wired up to a bus wire. Ten of the lamps are 12v / 80mA each and the other 30 are 12V/ 3mA each with resistors. Power is from a Guagemaster WM4 DC 1.25A wall mounted supply. 39 of the lamps work well with no issues. ...

Re: Tunnel Building
That was the plan if it could be achieved without being too obvious. It is suggestions on how to do this that I am looking for. I am thinking about using foam sheeting to form the profile of the hill and around the tunnel and overlaying with plaster bandage, covering in plaster as necessary and then...

Re: Tunnel Building
I understand what you are suggesting and it may be that i have to do that as a fall back. My wish was to make the tunnel a bit longer which would might make the recovery through the portal impractical.

Tunnel Building
Hi all, I am looking for a bit of help in building a new tunnel. I am hoping to create a mountain scene with an adjacent quarry. I have a double branchline that I would like to pass through the mountain. The problem I have is that the area of my layout that I want to use doesn't allow me to gain acc...

Re: Shed Storage area hardstanding
Thanks TS. Wasn't sure that Foamboard would take a paint due to its "glossiness". and I take your point about sealing the plaster first.

Shed Storage area hardstanding
Hi there, This may not be the right forum so if not I hope someone can move it as necessary. I am embarking on constructing a goods shed area/ marshalling area with a number of parallel tracks similar to a fiddle yard but which is visible. I want to create hardstandings between the tracks for mainte...

Re: Station signage
Many thanks all. I will dabble around and see which font looks right. Does anyone know off hand what text height would be optimum for 1:76 gauge?
Cheers

Station signage
I have never seen a thread about this subject so I am not sure if anyone can help me. I am attempting to make my own station name signage but have no idea what font was used (I am assuming there was a corporate one!) Can anyone tell me what font was used by BR for station name signage in the 50's? M...

Re: 00 Points choice..?
Last question - what is the actual height difference between code 75 and code 100 rails?

Re: 00 Points choice..?
Thanks both for a very clear and informative pair of replies. All is now clear. One resultant question though - Will code 75 likely cause issue with normal flanged wheels derailng? The reason I am looking at fitting code 75 electrofrog crossovers is that there doesn't appear to be a code 100 option,...

Re: 00 Points choice..?
What an opportune thread! Can somebody answer me two questions please. What is the difference between a slip, crossover and turnout. And can I fit a code 75 Electrofrog crossover into Streanlime Code 100 track without any problems (or additional bits)?

Re: Low Attic
Like others before me I too have a roof space that I can just stand up in at the ridge line. The roof slopes away at two different rates either side. I have built a running deck about 800mm off the "floor" level on both sides and ends and I have hinged sections at each end for access. This...

Re: Cable
You can do a lot worse than look at Brian Lambert's most useful website that covers all matters of railway modelling electrics (and more).
