Re: Micro decoder still too big for my new shunter
I know Lenz used to do little decoders, though those look like tiny pins to solder the wires onto.

Re: Anyone currently buying?
Haha! You remember more then I do! I never did get to visit them as the only time I ever went to Liverpool I had to look after a guy in a wheelchair and he just had no real interest in trains or the trams at Blackpool (As we went to both and other volunteers quickly chose other people to look after ...

Re: Anyone currently buying?
Those look nice. Is "Ex. Hattons" a new business name to buy them from? I pre-ordered from Hattons when they were trading. On Hattons closing down their pre-order sales were taken over by Rails of Sheffield. Glencairn I wonder if Rails continue, or plan to continue the lovely looking loco...

Re: Point rodding position
You could model the one side of a signal box on the backscene? Oooo, hadn't thought of that, there will be a bit of space adjacent to the buffer stop, thats not a bad shout will have to have a think :) :D Gives you more space without actually using space, especially if you paint it onto backscenes...

Those look nice. Is "Ex. Hattons" a new business name to buy them from? I actually remember their address off by heart. 180 Smithdown Road, Liverpool... Was the postcode LY something 3JS or something? But yes! Sent many a cheque to buy things like their "50 assorted tracknpieces inclu...

Re: Point rodding position
Question. Where will the signalbox or groundframe be? This determines where the rodding will be. The rodding is not usually used in the 6ft, but rather, used beside the track. A siding or an additional running line or lines will normally be spaced at 10ft which is standard to allow for bridgepiers a...

Re: Noise on curves
... back to back, I assume its the same on peco flexy as the super 4... Items made to run on super 4 and earlier track have smaller back to back to back, (or even variable back to back due to a wheel loose on the axle) and Hornby continued with this on at least some product while manufacturing in t...

Re: Lofty's Square Foot - Bufferstop Challenge
Sorry I missed this question at the weekend. The base for the rocks are common household filler. Once dry I give it a coat of cheap acrylic craft grey to seal it, once that is dry I wet the surface and apply tiny amounts of acrylics to individual surfaces, with plenty of water it really dilutes and...

Re: Mountain's Bufferstop Challenge.
That is actually three pieces of hardboard even though it looks like one (Hence the tape which taped them together). I also found a nice sized length of pine which is a little smaller than a 2x1 which is ideal. So soon, when I am ready I will make a start. I need to work out how high I need to make ...

Re: My very first layout (N Gauge)
Is easier though to learn things a step at a time which is why if one is into 00 gauge, I personally think it is an idea to go for DC first, learn that and then go into DCC because understanding DC principles actually gives one a greater understanding as to what is going on when fault finding on DCC...
