Re: Bachmann class 37

If it's new, return it to the supplier for replacement or refund. It's faulty. Would agree with Roger, best thing is to get a refund or a replacement, its clearly not not working correctly and if you go opening it up and possibly marking it or otherwise voiding any warranty then its not worth it. M...

Re: Renumbering, The First Attempt

Thanks, wasn't too sure if it was too harsh on the body work. I done a transfer test on an old coach to practice that too. For sealing the transfer I used a Matt varnish but when it dried I didn't like the look of it and so I thin k I'll buy a gloss varnish to test that. This particular Loco once re...

Renumbering, The First Attempt

As the subject says, my intention is to change 37401 Mary Queen... into 37558 Avro Vulcan... Following advice online I was using the cocktail stick and nail remover method, I have removed the tampo's and my first attempt photos are shown. I think it need a bit of tidying up but I do feel it looks pa...

Re: BACHMANN 31-127 30xx 2-8-0 ROD

I have BACHMANN 31-128, running number 3036, the weathered version, it wasn't dirty enough so I had it weathered properly. Great runner and really like this model.

Trying Out A GoPro

The wife got a GoPro and I have been messing around with it setting it up, I can see it would be good for filming real locos. For now I have been fooling around with the test track. Here's a first attempt with a 33 taking the lead on traction for this parcels formation. Mark https://youtu.be/-AoVxjj...

Re: Bizarre Shortcircuit

Problem Solved, luckily it wasn't anything too technical in the end. When I finally had a chance to get back to this a good inspection of the bogies found that two pickups had been bent through almost 180 degrees (one on each bogie). I unscrewed the cab insides from the chassis and was able to get a...

Re: Class 122 DMU Hauling Coaches

An interesting film showing a class 101 being coupled/uncoupled to a Derby Lightweight.

Re: Class 122 DMU Hauling Coaches

Plenty of great additional information coming from you guys, just goes to show that there are always plenty of things you can do on your layout in lieu of a standard train formation.

Class 122 DMU Hauling Coaches

All, This afternoon while taking the 122 out of a siding it inadvertently had been coupled up to a couple of wagons that were on the same siding. This got me thinking, why even have couplers on the 122? Then I thought. well did they ever haul other rolling stock? A quick google and up came https://w...

Re: Bizarre Shortcircuit

Thanks guys, will continue the detective work later this evening. Edit, I should be able to narrow down which bogie to concentrate on easily enough, last night I put the loco on my Gaugemaster wheel cleaning brushes, it shorted then, so I'll repeat move the bogie around and then identify the bogie. ...

Bizarre Shortcircuit

I'm running in a Heljan 128 today, the van gets half way round and then I get the short circuit flashing up on my Lenz controller. Reset try again and shorts out in exact same place. Reset, reverse then on a different corner its shorts out. Put on programming track to check for short circuit and not...

Re: Which sound/speakers for Heljan DP2

One other point to consider when choosing the sound provider is the interactive driving of the loco that the chip allows. In particular Paul Chetter's DIgitrains projects on Zimo are a prime example and Mr Soundguy also I would include.
