The locos listed by Bigmet are from the GWR, LMS and LNER. If your layout were to be Southern based I'd also recommend the ex USA 0-6-0 tank that Bachmann produced on behalf of the Model Rail magazine. What would have been a fairly standard rake composition for an LMS mail train from Euston to Holyhead? Aytime in the 1930's. Also what loco would you expect to see hauling the train?

No poblem both Hornby and Peco settrack use code 100 rail, Peco Streamline code 100 track and points connect OK. I'm looking at old OS maps of what used to be behind my house that I would like to incorporate into my new layout. The original decoder was a Bachmann and I changed it to a Lenz 10321-01 Silver 21. I am using a Lenz controller now also so keeping all the electronics from the same maker made sense (apart from the price).

New decoder installed and all running perfectly.

I've been watching a good few YouTube visors on points wiring, motors, Dec decides for motors, the more I watch the More daunting it seems. Will post on Dec sub forum once the time comes to start the work. At the moment happy the J83 is running better for now, didn't want to discard it outright. Mark

Dissambled agin last night and got the doecoder out as decribed. I'm still moving about any mechanics with the locomotives and didn't want to be pulling things out that look they may break on me.
