Cavalex Models

I came across the forthcoming PGA hoppers and really liked the look of the Redland liveried version, I have my pre-order in as of yesterday and looking forward to their arrival. A nice addition I think and their latest news on what might be coming next also sounds interesting.

Cheltenham Model Centre

I was visiting the town so pre ordered a sound fitted ‘37. Picked it up today, friendly and helpful staff and enjoyed the test and run through the sound features in the shop.

Stanier Period III Coaches

In the latest update and new releases from Hornby, these coaches caught my eye, the colour looks odd, is it just the photo of the drawing or does anyone else think they have a hint of orange in them? Maybe my eye need testing.

The new LMS corridor (R4803-R4805) also look very appealing.

Re: Another Loft Layout, Starts and Ideas

A bit more detail on the space available, in the sketch below the lines at the top show te direction the stairs up to the loft are located (Also drew in windows you can see in photo), a good 1.5 metres from end of expected baseboard. Total width I have to work with, allow a decent height of baseboar...

Another Loft Layout, Starts and Ideas

All, The house rennovation may not be finished but theres always time to consider the future loft layout. The photo of the loft shows it in its unfinished state but you can get an idea of the space (the visible part anyway). I have plenty of length but width is my main restriction. I can Iget a 3rd ...

Class 08 R3484 - Liveries

All,

Did Hornby produce any of these 08's in livieries other than the Green with late logo? This model is really nicely detailed and having it in another colour scheme would be nice.

Regards,

Re: Review: Oxford Rail's Dean Goods

Thanks Tony,

Definitely going for and early BR black once released.

Also glad I looked through the other blogs and saw the Club 'Tirdonkin' wagons getting produced by Dapol, think I'll preorder a set of those too..

Re: Dean Goods, second loco released by Oxford Rail

Is opinion still divided on the Dean Goods here? From the reviews I have read and watched, I think I would be willing to go for the black early BR when it come out. As mentioned by others earlier, why not encourage another producer, the more competition the better for us.

Shopping For Sound

All, Dipping my toe into sound and looking around to see what is available. I managed to find wheeltappers.co.uk for my Irish diesel and have looked (and listened) to a couple of providers for British diesel/steam. Two in particular seem to offer a good service, Youchoos and Wickness, although one w...

Re: NEM again

Without starting another thread on this topic, I recently purchase a load of the old type Hornsby stings wagons that have those awful plastic wheels and the cast in big D couplings. What's my best option for a replacement to the old Hornsby couplings? Cutting them away is the first step, something a...
