Re: Dapol Pug Plastic Kit

Thats a shame about the Stirling Single - someone always ruins it . . Thanks to all those who checked out my video. I came across some older airfix versions some time ago, they were part built and in need of repair - you're right, the plastic did look much better!

Dapol Pug Plastic Kit

Hi All! Been a while since I last was here - not had much time to build any model trains recently :( Anyways, this is my latest creation - Dapol Pug in OO Gauge (the old ex-airfix/kitmaster kit) I made a video of the build and finished model - let me know what you think of the finished thing! Many t...

Re: Dapol BR Prairie Kit

Thanks for all the compliments and criticisms! I agree, cheaper kits are definitely the way forward for practicing skills. When I started building this model, I hadn't realised that there would be so many fiddly bits to paint. On my next build, I'll paint certain parts (especially wheels etc) before...

Re: Dapol BR Prairie Kit

Thanks for the replies! I'll definitely keep the video comments in mind for a future video. As for the livery - I just followed the instructions on that one, so there must be a whole host of these kits out there with the decals in the wrong places! I agree with the comments about wheels, and I serio...

Check out the link below for a video of it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ub47ctSBd4 Not 100% happy that the wheels dont turn as freely as i'd like, ...

Re: Dapol imperfections or am I expecting too much?

I bought a N gauge Class 73 (in NSE livery to go with a Grafar cl33) and it seemed to be amazing at first - Being one of the new generation of models with flywheels, better detailing and directional lighting. After about a week however, the lighting only operated in one direction at anything other t...

Dapol 00 Gauge Figures

Hi all! New video featuring a timelapse painting of these figures is online here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bCvPpIEfyoo If you guys wanted to check them out. I'm presuming they're ex airfix, bit disappointing that all the sprues have the same figures on though. Good mold quality however. Any c...

Re: New and unsure.

Just looking at your sketch, although i'm sure we'd all love to have that much space, if you plan to have track running in that bottom left corner, you've got 4 feet to reach across if anything breaks or derails etc . . Might be worth making it a bit narrower in that area so you can reach things wit...

Re: First time here!

Hi End2End,

The instructions say to warm the part in warm water, then bend flat using your hands, and hold in position until cool. With some of the parts i just flexed them with my hands until they looked flat.

Hope this helps :)

Re: Dapol Ex Airfix mineral wagon & tanker kits

They do now, but i found that on my Esso tanker there was a coupling missing, but when I purchased a 10 ton meat van, there was a whole extra set . . . convenient The metal wheels are handy, although a few kits also come with the plastic ones They are really lightweight though, and extra weight is n...
