Dc locos on DCC track

This may have been asked before but.....
Just converted to DCC, fantastic, but still got several locos not yet converted.
I want to keep them on my layout...am I going to have a section totally isolated, I.e. By 2 irj's or will they just sit there quite happy without.

Re: Wheel cleaning

Thanks Flashbang.
Have just looked on Peco site. That is what they say...connect to track or bus, enter loco number in controller and off you go.
Appreciate your help.

Wheel cleaning

Just gone to DCC...
A question for you....in the old days to clean my wheels I would use the Peco brush and scraper via a 12v supply. Now my locos are chipped can I still use this...or what are the options...

Re: Point decoders

I am hoping to lose all the switches etc and run everything through the controller, maybe just keeping a small plan with the track diagram on.

Re: Point decoders

Thanks for all the info, so good to get honest, valued opinions. I think the Concepts decoders are no longer available...unless someone knows otherwise.

Re: Point decoders

Are you serious about buying the Lenz system?... Thought the Gaugemaster would do the job. Won't be running more than about 3-4 locos at once. Yes, decoders can be placed close to the points, I.e. Stn throat, yard, approach etc.

Re: Point decoders

Thanks for your comments.....that's peed on the chips...I was hoping to do away with all the wiring...not getting any younger and accessing under baseboards a pain, hence the decoders....or so I thought....shame I can't use my existing CDU, didn't realise an AC feed was needed, thought my DC one was...

Point decoders

Just about to make the leap to DCC. Looking at point decoders....the Lenz 150 6 way one looks good value for money. Are there any other one that are cheaper or better?. Getting rid of miles of wires under the layout appeals to me...!!!!!( 51 points...!!!!).
