Re: Brake Tender For Diesel Locomotives

I bought a plain green one when this batch was first advertised. It was a 'nostalgia' buy. It reminded me of the Peaks on the parcels trains through Chesterfield in the early to mid 60s. They always seemed to have a brake tender on the front. I don't think many would have found there way up a branch...

Re: The story of PETERSDALE my OO gauge Branch Line layout

Off to the Stafford show tomorrow if there's no snow overnight. I'm taking the Sentinel with me for Grimy Times to weather. Train from Northampton then shuttle bus to the showground. It's a good example of the crazy pricing on our railways. Day return with senior railcard £20. Two seperate single ti...

Re: Goo Gone

Just use Isopropyl alcohol (IPA). It's about the purest and best cleaning fluid for track, wheels and general degreasing. This is what i use in my CMX car and would fully recommend it, fantastic stuff useful for cleaning lots of other things as well Yep me to. Had my cmx about 2 years and have alwa...

Re: The story of PETERSDALE my OO gauge Branch Line layout

I think that weathering came up spot on :D I especially like the 4MT. I think you nailed it with their placement in the photos mate. Thanks for the comment Josh. Yes, I think the 4MT is one of the best they've done for me. You do pay the price though but they are consistently to the same standard e...

Re: The story of PETERSDALE my OO gauge Branch Line layout

Took the 20 minute drive up the A605 to the Peterborough show on Sunday. A nice show as usual with something for everybody. Like Warley it seemed as though there were more smaller layouts but it maybe just me. I was there from 10.30 till 2.30 and it was reasonably comfortable most of the times. I ha...

Re: All Change -- Well Not Quite!

It's the little cameos that make a layout interesting.
Where did you get the dog walkers if you don't mind me asking?

Re: BARGAINS!

So now we have Hattons 12 days of Christmas bargains. A different item offered at a 'bargain' price for just 24 hours. Yesterday it was a Bachmann OO Birdcage coach, today an O gauge GWR loco and tomorrow, who knows? Get your wallets out guys.

Re: The story of PETERSDALE my OO gauge Branch Line layout

The weathering is spot on Pete, love the sulzer especially, I agree with you on Grimy Times weathering, they are at the top of their game and at good prices too. Really like your Sentinal, that will look nice weathered, never seen a clean one in any pictures I have seen of them, 'grubby and neglect...

Re: The story of PETERSDALE my OO gauge Branch Line layout

My only grump, the NECs rip off parking charges, I'll be checking the off peak fares along the Coventry to Newstreet line next year, perhaps even the bus ( free for us) from Solihull. = Bufferstop Can't disagree with you there Buffer. £16 was it for on the day parking or £12 pre-booked. It costs me...

Re: The story of PETERSDALE my OO gauge Branch Line layout

Well another Warley come and gone. Was it me or were there more smaller layouts this year? It was quite comfortable in the morning then seemed to get busier after lunch. Thought I was going to have a cheap day out but the Model Rail Sentinel was on 'Show Offer' It lost out last year to the USA Tank ...

Re: The Great Model Railway Challenge

Saw the winners at Warley yesterday.
The layout looked good in the flesh. Very futuristic.
The guys also looked good in their newly acquired 'uniforms' LOL.

Re: The story of PETERSDALE my OO gauge Branch Line layout

Off on the annual pilgrimage to Warley tomorrow. I know, but I just don't seem to be able to break the habit. I've got 3 coaches to collect from TMC and a BR type 2 Sulzer and my Heljan shunter to collect from Grimy Times. Pictures will be posted in due course. I'll be leaving my Midland Compound, a...
