Hornby Ringfield Motor Spur Gear Not Moving

I have a Hornby class 47 with a ringfield motor, basically the motor spins but the spur gear doesn't.

Is the best way just to glue this on to the armature or is there another way

Hornby DCC train with Bachmann EZ Command Controller

Im under the impression that a hornby dcc train will work with the bachmann EZ controller but this all depends on the decoder in the hornby train

Are there only particular hornby decoders that will work with the bachmann EZ controller and does anyone have a list of these decoders?

Re: Bachmann EZ Command, Missing Red Lead

Could you then just get a lead with 3.5mm jack plug on one end and strip the other and solder to the track, would that work?
