Re: Ive heard of leaves on the Line but........
There was some growing in the tracks along platform 4 at Doncaster a couple of years back, don't remember that making the papers... Must be another slow news day.

Re: class 101 wheelsets
Thanks.
Ordered new parts.
I did check all the gears before stripping the bogies and found the both gears attached to the motor shaft split too.

class 101 wheelsets
I have an old Graham farish class 101 that I'm repairing for someone. It's in need of new drive gears on all 4 axles, as they are split but its proving difficult to remove the wheels from the actual axle first. Its just rotating. Does anyone know if they should just pull off, or if they are moulded ...

First issue was in local newsagents today - Mallard £2.99 will take some photos at lunch if i get time but put it this way you get what you pay for  ideal for a bit of weathering or painting experience Bought one today too, just out of curiosity. Looks like it was assembled by monkeys. Scratch...

Re: left hand drive
A driver getting out the right side of the loco would put him in danger of other passing trains?

Only 3.5 bathrooms? I wouldn't have it.. unless something was knocked off for the half a bathroom that implies it isn't finished. Don't fancy having to get cowboy builders in to finish it.
Nice trains though.

Re: Is this too good to be true?
I sent for this months ago from Atlas editions, got the bus, cancelled everything else, no problem. Was the same with the Eddie Stobart truck for £1.99. I never even had any ads through the post or email. I put the Stobart truck on ebay for 99p after it became surplus to requirement and surprisingly...

Just tag a HST powercar on instead of the DVT, thats how they ran when first introduced in the late 80's.

I use Railmatch or Phoenix Precision railway paints and livery transfers from Fox transfers: http://www.fox-transfers.co.uk Model shops seem a bit hit and miss when it comes to buying the paint and transfers needed, round my area at least. Packs of disc, spoked, 3hole wagon wheels by Bachmann, are a...

Re: Update on 4472 'Flying Scotsman'
I've just got around to filing this letter, can't see that it's particularly privileged info (how much privilege does £30 10 years ago buy you) so for those even less privileged here it is NRM Letter.jpg John W aka Bufferstop Does that sound like they are saying that there is a possibility that the...

I read on another forum Tornado failed at Rhyl on the 20th with brake problems. Probably haven't sorted it out yet, as another tour it was booked on the 23rd was cancelled altogether.

Re: Humbrol Rail Paints For Royal Coaches.
I dont think they do. Railmatch do Royal Train Claret, number 326 for a jar of gloss enamel, which i have used and is very good or Precision Paints P143 Royal Coach Maroon.
