Re: EWS Class 58 - wagons!

Depends what Image Googling finds Silver Bullets TTA some ill-defined stone wagons coaches!! and what looks like a balast wagon and some unidentified box vans (so assuming an engineers train) I suspect if you find HAAs to be "darn expensive" at £10-£13 a pop then rake of coaches or £22 sil...

Re: Station access tickets

Well let's hope other companies take heed of some of the model railway compaines and bring manufacturing back to Britain so we can have some JOBS. Remember those? :D Which model railway companies? All the major ones manufacture in China. Union Mills produce some brilliant little locos in th...

Re: Station access tickets

And in response to Jivebunny, It's not CONVENIENT for me to be tracked wherever I go thank you very much! Well in that case I hope you've never used a credit or debit card, or even a chequebook for that matter as your bank will still know what you've spent and where 8) If transport systems want to ...

Re: Is Thomas Dead.

Who wants Hornby 'Thomas' anyway ? All my Thomas stock with the exception of coaches Annie & Clarabel are from the Bachmann US range, quite easily available here in the U.K and at quite reasonable prices. They are the simplified CGI T.V style which makes them ideal for even young children handl...

Re: Station access tickets

London buses... if I need to get on one ill be paying cash. If refused then they will have to "try" to remove me. I'm not sure it's fair to inconvenience the bus driver, all your fellow passengers and other buses / traffic while your bus remains stationary at the bus stop so you can moan ...

Re: Is Thomas Dead.

Yes, that's what was announced in January and there have been no announcements to the contrary since then. Yes, but also no teasers or expectation raisers or attention gatherers. Nothing at last year's or so far at this year's trade fairs, as far as I can find. So, no leaks. Is the fuel tank theref...

Re: Is Thomas Dead.

Not sure if I'm missing something but this link says that Hornby are reviving the range- http://www.hornby.com/us-en/news/simonsays/friends-with-thomas/ The recent announcement that Hornby will once again be producing a range of Thomas & Friends products did create a series of comments on the f...

Re: Have Hornby Lost the Plot

As someone who's spent a good quarter of his life in France, it's all too clear to me the damage that can be done to the hobby when a major manufacturer stops supplying retailers with stock. In Lima/Jouef's case it was down to bankruptcy rather than greed / business choice, but the model shops stopp...

Re: Is Thomas Dead.

Found this on Hornby's own forum, dated March 27th of this year and in response to people complaining that the "details coming soon" Thomas announcement has yet to happen: "Announcements will be made when they're ready. Releasing information before the details have been worked out can...

"Only" £130? How is that a good deal? Hattons are selling the latest Dapol HST packs for just a fiver more than that!

Re: Dapol Quality

I wasn't really talking about a "men in white coats" setup, rather that Dapol could avoid all of their embarrassing mistakes by simply getting someone in the office to take a few seconds of their time to actually LOOK at the decorated samples, think a bit, and then reject them for being ve...

Re: Dapol Quality

Missing couplers seems to be a recurring theme with brand new Dapol products, which indicates to me that QC is not something Dapol have heard of. You only need to look at their recent release of the Mk3 DVT in Intercity livery to understand that getting things right is not one of their priorities. I...

Re: Hornby Thomas Spencer

I suspect that if Hornby successfully renegotiate the licence and re-release the Thomas range, we'll see a sudden drop in price. It's already happening. Before Hornby announced that the Thomas range was returning in 2015, "Oliver" was selling for upwards of £300 and "Toad" the b...
