Re: Millsend Layout - OO Gauge Sixties Midland

A big thank you to all the comments, they are very much appreciated.

I do have quite a few shots of the layout developing early on, which have not be
seen before, I will get them all together and have a session posting them to the forum.

Thanks once again

Jim.

Re: Hawick via Grantham, Inverness and SIAM (00 gauge DC)

Just had an enjoyable read Ex-Pat, catching up on the advances since I was last on here.
I always said I can't wait to see it painted :D
I absolutely love it.
Cheers Jim.

Re: Millsend Layout - OO Gauge Sixties Midland

And finally a couple of shots of the railway room looking very different now, housing
my Hornby Dublo Collection of 2 rail models from 1959-1964.

Re: Millsend Layout - OO Gauge Sixties Midland

Hope I can pop in for a spell after so long an absence :? I hope all my friends on the forum are well during these challenging Covid times. Well it's been a while now since Millsend was dismantled, but I recently found some images of Millsend, early in it's construction and some similar images of th...

Re: Hawick via Grantham, Inverness and SIAM (00 gauge DC)

I remember many moons ago saying, 'can't wait to see paint on it'. Well that time has come and it certainly looks the business. You deserve an Ex-Pat on the back :D Your time on this model has paid dividends and as for not having colour pics to turn to, I would recommend very grimy, but than again '...

Re: Millsend Layout - OO Gauge Sixties Midland

Well.........I have made the decision to dismantle 'Millsend'. We are having to have work done in the utilities cupboard which means access is needed and the layout is in the way. It also means access for the future must be left. I have been thinking about it for some time and this has just made me ...

Re: Millsend Layout - OO Gauge Sixties Midland

Thanks for the comments Johv8, Chops, Dursleydog and Glencairn. Withdrawal symptoms, we can't have that. Nothing has changed or been added to Millsend recently, but, I have been having running sessions now the layout is finished and enjoyed it too. The pigeon brake van I posted about has now been we...

Re: Millsend Layout - OO Gauge Sixties Midland

Thanks Geoff.

A couple more pics of the Pigeon brake van after it's last coat of Railmatch
BR maroon paint. A coat of matt varnish needed now to complete and couplings to fit.

Re: Millsend Layout - OO Gauge Sixties Midland

Thanks Geoff T and TimberSurf. Not much happening modelling wise on Millsend, enjoying some running sessions now. Whilst trawling the internet I found this oddity, an LNER 4 wheel LWB Pigeon Brake Van. After reading up on their history, it seems a few survived through the sixties and 1 example laste...

Re: The story of PETERSDALE my OO gauge Branch Line layout

Well Pete, that looks absolutely perfect to me, have to say that in
my opinion Grimy Times are very good value for money and do an
excellent job.

It looks the business with the minerals in the siding.

Re: Millsend Layout - OO Gauge Sixties Midland

Just a short update on Millsend.

I sent a recent purchase away for weathering to Grimy Times and have
just received it back, very pleased with the look they have achieved.

A few shots of the 'Stove' in the parcel sidings.
