Re: Hawick via Grantham, Inverness and SIAM (00 gauge DC)

Looks like the warping problem was eventually overcome thankfully. Engine shed windows look brilliant, another build to look forward to. And Ah yes 'the painting', I'm still looking forward to seeing it painted, it will transform what looks like a good structure now into something unique and special...

Re: Gateside and Northbridge (Incorporating the Allanshaw Inglenook)

The stonework supporting the bridge looks spot on Jim. Visually 3d using plastic.

A wipe with decorators caulk using fingers solves the gap problem for me and it's dry overnight.

Each to their own though.

Like the loco Jim, as others have said, fits in well on the layout.

No doubt a loco crew is being prepared as we speak

Re: Millsend Layout - OO Gauge Sixties Midland

Thanks very much Dan for your comment, glad you like it.

Thanks again Jim, I really like parcel stock, more so than passenger coaches really, in fact
my most recent purchase can be seen briefly (well the roof anyway) behind
the 08, a stove 6 wheeler, too clean though, needs weathering

Re: Millsend Layout - OO Gauge Sixties Midland

Had a running session this morning and thought I'd record a little of it.

Something of a record for me, 3 locos running at the same time.

Hope you enjoy it

Re: Gateside and Northbridge (Incorporating the Allanshaw Inglenook)

Would black weathering powder give you the muddy look you're after Jim?

It's starting to look quite industrial now, right up my street.

Quality work Jim.

Re: The story of PETERSDALE my OO gauge Branch Line layout

The weathering is spot on Pete, love the sulzer especially, I agree with you on Grimy Times weathering, they are at the top of their game and at good prices too. Really like your Sentinal, that will look nice weathered, never seen a clean one in any pictures I have seen of them, 'grubby and neglecte...

Re: Gateside and Northbridge (Incorporating the Allanshaw Inglenook)

It's really starting to come together now Jim, as for your brickwork, you have definitely nailed it, the pointing looks very effective. You say you need slate grey for your slates, when using Slaters tiles sheets, I use a lightish grey (matt), then apply a black weathering powder, which when wiped o...

Re: Dad-1 - Workbench - West Bay Wagon Works

That's a lovely looking wagon Geoff, surprising how a coat of primer brings out
the level of detail in a model, something we seem to loose on
subsequent coats. This one is a nice kit with good deep details.
