Re: Frontington & Backwoods Railway

I'm running on DC, so I don't have a constant power feed from the track It actually works for DC or DCC. :) The capacitor acts like a stay alive unit, but instead of power to keep a motor of a loco moving, it releases the power back into the circuit to light the coach when there is no track power. ...

Re: Frontington & Backwoods Railway

You can make lighting rigs for your coaches for even cheaper if you buy the componants and build it yourself! https://www.newrailwaymodellers.co.uk/Forums/download/file.php?id=24318 https://www.newrailwaymodellers.co.uk/Forums/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=50754&hilit=lighting+coach Easy enough...

Re: The VLBR

What I like about your layout OldBandit is that you can take a train from one siding round the layout straight into another siding. :)
None of that.... take the whole train past the point and reverse into the siding back down the mainline, like so many trackmats.
Thankks

Re: St. Blazey's - My first layout - Stage 3 Building

I'm still slowly continuing with my Inn, I am now upto the 2nd floor with the lights for the ground floor glued to the underside of the upper floor. I've added internal walls upstairs so the different room lights don't bleed into each other. I've decided not to add any extra lights to the room with ...

Dry ice or a CO2 fire extinguisher?
I was told yesterday that you can buy packets/boxes of dry ice in small inch sized (roughly) cubes.

Re: Gift ideas for railway modeller

Why not a retail model shop voucher to spend on what he wishes if your not sure?
Hattons / rails of sheffield amongst others do them. Perhaps your / his local model shop too.
Thanks

Re: Hattons Announces 4 and 6 wheel coaches

Very nice and very pleased these will come on the market indeed.
I never had faith in making coaches for myself but did like the look of the ratio kits so some of these will defintely be joining the fleet. :D
Thanks for the info.
