Re: New controller

What about trying a quick test with a non sound chip to make sure it's not the actual loco? I'd be inclined to argee with Heda that it's the chip not the loco. (along with the Select controllers limitations) In any case I'd like to see what controller you decide on if going that route as your using ...

Re: St. Blazey's Works and Depot

I am coming back round to thinking about the DCCing of my HST project. As mentioned in a previous post the 4700uf capactor is too big. Would a 25V 2200Uf be enough for the stay alive as these would be physically smaller than the 4700uf capacitors? And also just to bump my previous question about my ...

Re: Price of a Hobby

Great find Bigmet! :) I have one of those DMU's too. It's a lovely model and in fact I saw the real thing recently at a heritage railway. (I forget which). DSCF0454.JPG Feel free to save the picture. I thought I'd try charity shops for railway modelling items and even went to the extent of doing som...

Re: Droppers

Not sure about the actual points but I would add droppers to the end of each siding so they are live.

Where / what are the 2 places/shops you mention please Brightonman?
As for last years Horsham MRC, we may have dosey-doed round each other at the exhibition without knowing.

Re: St. Blazey's - My first layout - Stage 3 Building

I just wanted to bump my last question to see if anyone has an avenue to pursue. I am still on the lookout for a cheap 4 hole socket (for a 4 pin decoder) to add to my decoder testing circuit. Does anyone know where to buy one that doesn't cost as much as the ones I posted previously please? Thanks ...

Re: Linka

I've just ordered some Herculite No.2 from Maragon - http://www.maragon.co.uk/crafts.html#Init
£12.67 for 5Kg including pnp. :D
It took me quite a while to find the post / web address on the forum so I thought I'd add it here too, in the more appropriate thread.
Thanks

Re: flickering LEDs

I bought some flickering tea lights from poundland thinking they were elaborate enough to include a flasher circuit and switch inside. No luck. All the plastic slide switch did was to push over the 2nd LED's leg to touch the other side of the battery making the connection. I concluded that it's the ...

Not a lot of making going on at the moment but a few more purchases for different projects. 8 Pcs Sugarcraft Modelling Set Icing Cupcake Cake Decorating Tools Craft Pens @ £1.75 for the "over-plastering" I want to do on the exterior of my Linka Inn. (once it's made) Maun Safety Rule 300mm ...
