Re: 3d printers and printing

Apart from the mishap, how are you getting on with the Saturn? I've been tempted to get a Mars to print some smaller things for the railway, barrels, sack trucks etc I hit the ground running! Worked faultlessly (with water washable) The only issue I have, is that although it says it has ethernet, t...

Re: 3d printers and printing

The bug has bitten harder and I have now bought an Elegoo Saturn, its the new Mono type LCD, so supposedly prints faster than the older Colour LCD's! But the build plate is much larger, which means some of my bigger designs can now be printed whole, rather than as bits to be glued together. Only had...

Re: 3d printers and printing

My 3d printing has taken over the railway modelling! However, they are all designs that will be utilised in the future on the layout! I am currently on design number 250! Ther are just 35 showcased in this vid https://youtu.be/5MZKvwsI7rI , but in the coming weeks I will be organising a full set of ...

Re: Birmingham New Street and Brettell Road in P4

You simply "stretched" a wagon! lol, talk about understatement! Terrific work as usual! I have always had a hankering to make the traditional BR fluorescent Tee lamps and have them lit. There is one supplier, but theirs is rather thick and dumpy! To that end, I designed one in 3D and print...

I made a how to video of this technique a while back, perfectly possible to use this on OO and N scale! https://youtu.be/u0cOOwC0Hyk

Re: m.levin's layout thread

I advocate aluminium sheet for strength, with a printed sheet on top and covered with perspex. It just means that you can disasemble later and replaced the paper print if it changes or fades. https://www.newrailwaymodellers.co.uk/Forums/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=44849&start=195

That's terrific, I love animated stuff, the build looks great too! I have played with Arduino's, but connecting with phones is beyond me! (busy learning 3D printing, so Arduino projects are on hold)

Lumsdonia link suggestion Writing from the USA. Your website "links" are especially helpful for finding UK stuff by us OO types not in the UK. Thanks for your efforts. I found a "vehicle" link you may wish to add. I've built a couple of their kits and they're quite nice. See: ht...
