Re: Insurance

Make a catalogue of all your rolling stock, as detailed as you can, then take pictures of them and the build and include raw materials and tools. It is very difficult for an insurer to argue against 'in context' pictures. Otherwise they will come up with a nominal sum and it will be woefully short o...

Re: A Question of OO Canals, advice please.

I have yet to build mine (I have cast the sides out of herculite from a silicon mould made from a master made of Linka) but I can advise on all the methods I have researched. The sides can be made from card with paper (stone/brick) covering or from plasticard, quite easily or just sloping embankment...

Re: BASINGSTOKE 1958-67 OO LAYOUT - Intro, plans & Baseboards

Wonderful!

Your explanation of board construction, nicely confirms my findings through research, over the last umpteen years.

Following with great interest. I am planning a layout half the size, but £25k still sounds scary. :o

Re: G scale fence posts

Depends what scale your after! If it were 1:22.5, then 6in post would be approx 6mm, I would look at hobby shop wood supplies or possibly DIY store wood beading, but probably the best option may be lollipop sticks (think candy floss) from china https://www.lumsdonia.co.uk/tips100.html#108 and https:...

Re: OO Triang Hornby Stephenson's Rocket

There are several commercially available PCB's available to give shuttle control for DC and similarly for DCC, DCC Concepts have just brought out a range of "Black" decoders that have a shuttle function built in!

Re: Halt station diorama

Diorama's are great for building your skills and for limited space. {they don't even need tracks!} I build my first at about 13 years old, two peices of slate, with some mountain climbers hanging from a rock by some rope {thread} :D Check out my recent non tracked diorama, that will eventually be in...

Re: Lumsdonia Website and YouTube Updates

There are not many suppliers who sell screen printed white window surround/bared acetate sheets, of the few, even less that suite Linka window tiles, and it struck me that not all windows are white! Unfortunately, home PC printers cannot print white, but they can do all other colours. This means tha...

Hi Dublo, yes I can track which pfd's that are downloaded, so over time will see what is popular and what is not! Having loaded the two new pages, some pictures in the tips pages decided to stop working, so it took most of last night to fix them all! Once I have thoroughly tested everything, I will ...

Re: Linka

Thanks e2e, but I think the problem with the bottom left is that you have used a B3 window in a B2 tile! Mine and dublo's work fine if the correct window is fitted! I must say that the bottom middle and left are not tiles I recognise! I do not know of a Linka mould with 6 panels or a round top one w...
