Re: John Geeee's Garden Shed
Thank you Gents, Never really away though, just spend 99% of the time reading rather than writing
. Busy working life is killing my modelling enthusiasm unfortunately so not much to write about.

Re: John Geeee's Garden Shed
It has been another 12 months since I last posetd an update. I have mainly been playing with sound decoders and growing my sound fitted loco collection. I picked up a Bachman stone signal box the other week which was at a sale price in my local model shop. It came in a blue/green colour scheme (Scot...

Re: Tunnel Mouth issue
My guess is that the stock is clipping them at the top of the loco/carraige or is it the front of the loco cactching becasue of the bend overhang? Therefore is the track on a raised bed and adding to the height of the carraige? therefore could you try and raise the tunnel arch accordingly by packing...

Re: Model show price / distance
I travel to the bigger shows if they look worth a good few hours of watching and spending. From my home in Widnes I usually attend Warley (mainly becasue I originally come from the west mids so visit family at the same time), York, Wigan, also anything along the M62 like Manchester, Shipton, Halifax...

Re: Adding Point Motors - Now or Later?
Hi Mike Just make sure you note how the layout will be sited on the baseboard. If you do decide to fit point motors underneath then be sure you have not located a point tie bar directly above any underboard strengtheners/batons etc as it will make cutting or drilling the hole more difficult if not i...

Re: John Geeee's Garden Shed
Cheers Peak. Funny thing is when I started I was mainly interested in steam but now I seem to have more Diesel locos and I don't know how it happenned except I seem to get very attracted to the Green era of late. Going DCC was fun  I was amazed at what you could get away with for cleaning whe...

Re: John Geeee's Garden Shed
Not been doing much modelling as such but I have now converted to DCC over the last few weeks. I got an Ecos 50200 and have been putting decoders in my stock of locos. All seems to be working well, but needs a bit more in the way of power feeds in the odd place such as some of the sidings as I keep ...

Re: Do you ever get fed up of your layout?
All the time mate! Nowadays I think about it, read this forum every day, read all the modelling magazines every month, try to find inspiration, start a new model job and a week later leave it half finished on the dining room table for weeks and listen to wifey moaning when are you going to shift tha...

Re: John Geeee's Garden Shed
Hello again! Well the layout has had a lot of neglect over the last 12 months, but doesn't time fly! THe shed feels like it is being overun by spindley legged spiders creating cobwebs everywhere I look. THe new platform has also suffered from a bit of warping so that looks like another plan gone dow...

Re: Bachmann Dealers in Cheshire
I have used Penketh Models for years and will always fully recommend them, my favourite shop and I don't use them enough nowadays but they are the only place I need to go ! Paul is a great owner who is full of enthusiasm for our hobby. A big range of new and second hand locos and rolling stock. Stoc...

Re: Guagemaster Puffer Bottle. BS or not.
The bottle will be important as to how well it generates the static charge by a triboelectric effect. The effectiveness depends on where the two materials ie static grass and plastic bottle, sit in the triboelectric series. The further apart they are in the series the easier it is to generate a stat...
