Hope you get sorted E2E. I too used to back up with DVDs but that proved a pain. Macs have inbuilt software called Time Machine and when I bought the first hard drive 3 years ago I just plugged it in and the Mac immediately said " Oh a hard drive has appeared - do you want to use it for backups...

That's very bad news on a DCC fitted model, because what it suggests to me is that power from one rail is getting directly to the motor when pick up from the loco wheels is used. Surprising that the decoder has not been damaged by this, suggests that whatever the bad connection is, it has enough im...
