Re: RC CONTROLLED LIMA DELTIC

This morning did a timed test run on the Deltic with the current set up the train will run for 3 hours and 30 minutes and the battery has 14% charge left. When I fly I go down to about 10% and that’s generally for a 5 to 10 minute flight depending on how much hot-dogging I do. The battery in the Del...

Re: RC CONTROLLED LIMA DELTIC

Hello, Very interested in what it would cost or has cost to do the deltic. Thanks for showing and very clever idea. The cost is a bit hard to work out I was given a complete plane in flying readiness. And when I turned the plane into tip fodder :D I used the radio gear for this project. On ebay you...

Re: RC CONTROLLED LIMA DELTIC

Nice to see you back! What is the hold up with reversing, just not got round to it or is it technical ?(doubt it is as most RC controllers have at lest two channels). Why did you have to butcher the body? I’m glad to be back with the trains, the keeping the track clean has been my biggest problem. ...

I have uploaded a short video on Youtube of the Deltic running

Next stage is to cut the bottom of the fuel tanks and place the track cleaning parts into them.

Re: RC CONTROLLED LIMA DELTIC

Here is the next 5 pictures. After cutting the roof open I glued the window plastic into the body, as it would have probably broke when I tried to cut it out. Pictures 1 and 2 show the widow glass glued into place. 3rd and 4th show the middle cut out of the window glass. 5th photo shows the razor sa...

RC CONTROLLED LIMA DELTIC

Hi all i have been conspicuous by my absence on the forums due to my other hobby RC Planes. I have decided to fix a problem that has plagued me from the beginning with my layout and that is keeping the tracks clean, and cleaning then. Most track cleaners get towed behind a loco which travels over th...

Re: ARDUINO PROGRAMMING, AND INTERFACING HELP

insanity prevails :) So for the sake of it I have written the traffic light sequence for the above intersection. // USING AN ARDUINO MEGA SIMULATE THE TRAFFIC SIGNALS AT // HUME HIGHWAY AND RING ROAD INTERSECTION // THE INTERSECTION HAS 2 ROADS INTERSECTING // THE HUME HIGHWAY HAS NORTH AND SOUTH TH...

Re: ARDUINO PROGRAMMING, AND INTERFACING HELP

Hi timbologist I had another look at your code and got it running how I want it to. I like the look of it. It's complex looking for me to use but it look so much nicer than my code and shorter. The code I had to change was this I'm glad you got it working the way you wanted, as I said I used the ti...

Re: ARDUINO PROGRAMMING, AND INTERFACING HELP

green lights have different on times one about four seconds the other about eight seconds. The timing I used was taken from TimberSurf's code in program 2. Hi timbologist thanks for posting your code but the green lights have different on times one about four seconds the other about eight seconds. ...

Re: ARDUINO PROGRAMMING, AND INTERFACING HELP

This is probably one of the most important things is to comment your code well there is no such thing as over commenting. Put in lots of notes Use indirect addressing (make everything a variable, so it's easy to tweak after and understandable) {something we use regularly in PLC land} Now this can ca...

Re: ARDUINO PROGRAMMING, AND INTERFACING HELP

Hi all, it's good to see you all bouncing ideas of each other. I was away with my son at the Round 3 of the Asian Onroad Championships ( Electric Remote Control Cars ) held in Melbourne over the Weekend so I missed this discussion. It was amazing to watch especially Former World Champions, including...

Re: ARDUINO PROGRAMMING, AND INTERFACING HELP

Hi Paul Just a thought, if I wanted to reduce the throw of any servo is it just the case of editing the main/max throw lines in the code? For the given servo. Yes that is correct the lines as shown below for each servo define the maximum and minimum throw but depending on which way your servo is mou...

Re: ARDUINO PROGRAMMING, AND INTERFACING HELP

Hi Paul Glad to hear all is working ok, will gradually look at putting the slow motion part into the program. But will probably have to change how it is written as it will become very large doing everything 12 times so will have to change it to use advanced programming which I was trying not to do. ...

Re: ARDUINO PROGRAMMING, AND INTERFACING HELP

Hi Paul and others, here I have a basic set-up for a point controller using an Arduino Mega. The code has been written in the KISS style so beginners can follow it easier, no advanced programming or magic tricks involved. At the moment it is very basic in operation throw the switch and the servo mov...
