Re: Wordsworth Card Kits - FREE downloads

Thank you Mike, for your fine work. Truly appreciated in many parts of the world. By the way, Pringles are available in South Africa and many other countries I'm pretty sure. A great excuse you have provided to go out and buy a few packs! Here they also supply them in 1/2 size canisters which would ...

Re: Wordsworth Card Kits - FREE downloads

Looks great Doghouse (and Mike). One thing that occurs to me is the absence of gutters and downpipes, but a great piece of work.

Hi End2End, with Shapeways I think you need to contact the person who put the object up for printing, they will have the software to scale it up or down.

Streetlights

I get offers from a Chinese online market (which I have found useful in the past for things like generator spares), AliExpress. This morning on an email from them these little LED streetlights were on offer, they are for decorating potplants but look good enough to me for using on platforms, parking...

Re: Hand tool advice welcomed

I have a Ryobi one which is fine, but Dremel offers by far the widest range of accessories to create a micro-workshop.

Re: Turntables

Frizinghall Model Railways make a Meccano drive, they do a few motorised ones too: http://www.modelrailshop.co.uk/product/10785/Manual_Drive_for_Peco_Turntables That is one very expensive little assembly. It is possible to buy the Meccano parts to make it for about GBP5.00, including genuine Meccan...

Re: Sad, sad, sad...

Thanks Bufferstop. I realized that it is only a rheostat after posting, when I went to have a closer look. It is held together by metal tabs, with no screws visible. So any attempt to dismantle it will probably cause irreversible damage to the casing. I'll take it as read that it is and shall remain...

Re: Sad, sad, sad...

Thank you for the suggestions re distressed stock sitting on a siding waiting to be cut up, the silver lining has been identified! I aspire to building a layout depicting my native Killarney so the remark regarding such scenes in Ireland today is appreciated. I guess the transformer is beyond ...

Re: Sad, sad, sad...

The thing is, it was all in the cardboard box along with a load of track and it's not all that old because the signals have electrical contacts and a couple of the turnouts are also electric. Some of it looks like fire damage. No loco unfortunately. One of the wagons is very sturdy, a die cast job. ...
