Re: HM Baseboards Query

So just got the call back from Mrs M, apparently Mr M has missed my order somehow, which isn't great if I'm honest. I believe she's gonna have another look and hopefully I hear back again soon.

Re: HM Baseboards Query

So to add to this I called up last week and spoke to Mrs M, who said it's likely to turn up at some point next week, although it didn't feel me with confidence. Called up not long ago today and Mrs M said she'll call me back once she finds out some info on my board kit, so fingers crossed. I wouldn'...

Re: HM Baseboards Query

So just a little update.

Called up the first week of January and spoke to Mrs M who said lots of people have ordered kits recently so I'd have a 2-3 week wait. Going to call up tomorrow to see if there is any news on my order, hopefully good.

HM Baseboards Query

Hi all, I was wondering if anyone has ordered a baseboard from HM Baseboards before, if so how long did it take to arrive? I ordered one of their kits early last week, and haven't heard anything since, although the money has been taken. I know they may have been shut over the festive period, but an ...

Re: Track plan Help

There is a table here http://www.newrailwaymodellers.co.uk/track-conversion.htm which gives the equivalent Peco vs Hornby part numbers. Here is an explanation of the geometry of the track used. https://www.hornby.com/media/pdf/Track-Geometry-PDF.pdf Good luck with your project Jim Cheers Jim

Track plan Help

Hi everyone, I'm planning on creating this layout http://www.freetrackplans.com/Hornby-8G.php and would like some help on what Peco set track I will need to create it please. I'd not had the model bug for a while but seeing Hornby's 2019 announcements brought it back. Only having my bedroom for a lo...

Exhibition layout Query

Just a quick question, would a small layout without a fiddle yard be a good exhibition layout? Basically ive recently built myself a 4ft by 1ft heritage railway layout, which has a few small sidings and a short running line for a tank engine and some brake vans, but has no fiddle yard, so everything...

Heritage diesel fuelling?

Could anyone tell me or please show me how heritage railways fuel diesel locomotives, do they use drums or a old railway tanker. Thanks :D

Oxford Rail Loco Query?

Hi fellow forum members, been a while since i've been on here, so glad to be back. So I have a query I want to ask regarding Oxford Rail locos. So basically I want to pre order their 00 gauge GER N7, but having seen a Sam's Trains video about the not so good GWR dean goods, I just want to ask if tha...

Re: What can I build on a 6ft board

What i am thinking of doing is a new railway kind of layout, have the whole board scenic and imagine that the branch station is a recently set up railway with a short running line, but off scene is a disused track bed which the railway are planning on building on, but to bring money in they run trai...

Re: What can I build on a 6ft board

About 50 sheets of paper is right to settle on a whole "blank canvas" design. Raliway museum... Offers flexibility. First thought Turntable, or not? A good way of getting a lot of locos on display and still be able to move them. Some railway museums and centres that have expanded have end...

Re: What can I build on a 6ft board

Right I have a idea in my head now, as it will be a home layout, I was thinking about the idea of a railway centre kind of layout, similar to a depot layout, so there would be no hidden track, so its like the east Anglian railway museum, a small running line, and sidings for stock and locomotives. I...
