Oops, got my days wrong then. I never dump her anyway, never a good move. :lol: She's quite keen on the exhibitions in moderate doses. We once went to the New Forest exhibition, at her request, where she went away and made a load of N scale bunting for the local club before coming back the next day ...

An advantage of laying track and having a prelonged period of, ahem, testing, before rushing to ballast. Better to discover any shortcomings now rather than later. Who wants to be beating deceased equines after all. :)

Hi Ciaran and welcome to the forum. :) I used to live to the SW of London and still spend some time there now on the cusp of Southern and Great Western territory. I too know very little about modern systems but am slowly building up my knowledge of steam stock and operations mainly by reading loads ...

Neat and quite handy too once you go above a certain number of locos on the layout at one time. I've thought about this but never realised how simple it would be. :)
