Re: Cheap as chips Mehano on Amazon
Few funny bits going on at the moment with Amazon, I nabbed the Hornby Christmas train set in the week for £25 (1/2 price) been wanting one for years so snapped it up. I have also got a few Lego Duplo bits at crazy prices as well, currently waiting to see if they will honor the cargo train s...

Re: Hattons FAIL
I've been out of the loop for a while and have not had funds to preorder anything (few bits i would if i could!) so have missed this. Such Tier 3 designated retailers may also manufacture their own branded model railway items which might possibly conflict with those produced by Hornby Hobbies Ltd. T...

Re: RAILS of Sheffield and Hornby
spotted it on Facebook this morning, whatever the reason both of them should have looked after those with preorders better, either by honoring existing orders (but not taking new ones) or giving customers the option to transfer it over to Hornby or something - simply canceling them is likely to leav...

Re: Alex3410 - My Railway
Last weekend I managed to get a chance to pop back into the loft, my little one absolutely loved poking around on the layout and rummaging around in the boxes under it  Seeing how much she enjoyed it I have built a cover for the loft hatch that I can put in place when we are up and feel much sa...

Re: Covid Rip Off or Bargains
you cant trust Amazon prices for anything at the moment, I happened to be watching a few bits and coming back to my wish list daily as I get other bits and bobs. The prices for one item has fluctuated by about £50 in a week! they are quick to tell you when it's cheaper than when you added it to your...

Re: Frustrating track laying
when pinning the track down be careful not to drive the pins in too much as this can distort the track causing issues, particularly on points
learnt that the hard way
@Bufferstop masking tape is a fantastic idea, will be pinching it next time I get a chance to play in the loft

Re: Hattons store closure
We have a box by the front door, anything arriving goes in it for 24 hours then gets opened wearing gloves. Thats not a bad idea, we are due something today, my plan was to open it outside with gloves and put box etc right into the bin. There was a chap on the news suggesting people leave food shop...

Re: DCC Assistance
I am half asleep at the moment, so maybe totally missing the point  Do you need to connect it to the internet? my understanding was the wireless router is provided alongside the z21 to enable a wireless connection from your device to the z21 itself, this may just work as a standalone 'offline' ...

Re: Hornby Steampunk models
Maybe they are a little early with their April fools this year?
don't get me wrong I like the whole steampunk vibe/style but don't really think this is likely to be much of a hit.

it is very cold  Progress has been well and truly scuppered by the birth of our daughter not long after my last update :!: shes just over one now but just as hectic as ever. It means i have not found the time over the last year to do much of anything, I think I have had about half an hour in th...

Re: New Range announcements
Thanks for the link, much easier to digest then via the Hornby website. What really stood out for me was the tinplate 0 gauge locos, I have the original green clockwork one on the shelf in the living room and love how it looks, would not mind having a red or blue one next to it just not at those pri...
