A couple of quick progress pics showing the complete baseboard tops and me working out the location of the main station. http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a171/paulhulatt/IMG_2274.jpg http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a171/paulhulatt/IMG_2276.jpg Now just need to wait for my Peco Medium points from ...

Most of the baseboards tops are now fixed down (no pic, sorry!) and I've decided to simplify the plan slightly removing the raised section and inclines. http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a171/paulhulatt/Eastfleet3.jpg I think this gives a good station area, a raised section above the top right corne...

No updates on the board over the last couple of days as I've been back at work and it's far too cold in the evenings to walk down the garden to the garage!! I have however managed to make a start on our Faller Wild Mouse so here's a quick pic of the progress so far. http://i11.photobucket.com/albums...

Why don't you have a look at Gillingham which is a smaller depot? Another one would be Ramsgate although like Ashford this may be too big.

B&Q was open, as were most other stores on the same retail park. Judging by the number of cars in the car parks at Bluewater, that was open too!

Hopefully another update on the building work later today!

Happy New Year everybody!! Got a bit of work done in the garage yesterday, managed to get all the baseboards built and even a couple up on the wall. http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a171/paulhulatt/IMG_2265.jpg http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a171/paulhulatt/IMG_2266.jpg Hopefully I'll get the re...

The platforms have got to be the right height so lowering them is not an option. I've come up with a new plan: http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a171/paulhulatt/Eastfleet.jpg I'm pretty happy with it and may add another small station on the raised area in the top left corner. Also, I'm not sure abou...

Hi Martin

Is there a problem with your website as it seems to be down?

I definately don't mind. I like the idea of having two stations and a curved platform but I am concerned that there will be problems with clearances as most of our rolling stock is long coaches like Pendolino and Eurostar and I would also like platforms long enough to take 6 car (minimum) trains in ...

Eastfleet - 12ft x 8ft Garage Layout

I've been wondering whether the raised section should be double track and the whole layout as a folded figure-8, rather than the current double track mainline and the separate single track raised section?

Eastfleet has now moved from the playroom in our house, the the garage and with the move it will change to a round the room layout. The area that the layout will cover will be 3.8m x 2.5m with boards 60cm wide all the way round and ideally include an incline & raised section. It will be modern i...

The problems with the platforms that I experienced with the 168 are to do with the height rather than the proximity to the track. They are ok without the tops on so I need to have some way of topping them off that does not raise the height any further than in pic 2. The kink was always planned to be...

I thought it was about time for an update on the layout after the Christmas festivities. As you'd expect at this time of year there have been a lot of new rolling stock arrivals at Eastfleet: - Bachmann Class 220 Virgin Voyager + NT3 coach Hornby South Eastern Class 466 Suburban Networker Bachmann C...

Finally got some work done on the layout today with my son out of the way! First I pulled up 75% of the track, then covered the board with Cork Tiles and painted them. This should give me a good base to lay the track, sidings, platforms etc. http://couchracer.com/images/railway/Railway%20005.jpg htt...
