Re: Type 5 Ringfield Tender Motor Removal
Leave well alone . The tender is NOT designed to run separately from the loco ie by itself. If it runs ok DO NOT TOUCH it. Why do people always want to fiddle with things ???

Re: Hornby Class 47 Noise when pulling away
It is likely that the pinion gear on the armature shaft is slipping. Some of those used were manufactured in aluminium, which not a suitable material for a force fit on a plain shaft. If you are able to change the gear, which will require some degree of engineering expertise , then I can supply you...

Re: Hornby Class 47 Noise when pulling away
It's getting worse. :( I can't see any damage to the central gear. Now the sound has gone to a more high pitched whine. Please help. I only bought this loco today and I don't know what the stall I bought it from was called as they gave me no receipt. :( I spent a whole week delivering papers to pay...

Re: Colas Rail Freight Class 66
I have just taken delivery of my Cola Rail 66 and noticed it has a Buckeye Coupler fitted on the driver end, having looked at the prototype this is incorrect. This has happened on the last two Class 66 releases, the GBRf Europort 66 being incorrectly fitted with one as well.... Anybody got a spare ...

Re: Model & Hobby Show
The whole idea of the show is that it is a TRADE show for retailers to see some of the new products and place orders. The Collectors have not got a god given right to go and should be thankful for a FREE chance to go. As for the catalogues it would a logistical nightmare to givwe them to the people ...

Re: Old Castle Class Oiling Points
Thanks for that advice 6C, that seems a much more sensible way to do it. Why do Hornby tell you to remove the motor if you can do it that way? I use some oil from Model Craft(?) which is designed for this kind of job and has a fine applicator.[/quote] Hornby don`t tell you to remove the motor but us...

Re: All I ask for is a decent site
a particularly bad example is the Branch lines blog http://branchlines.blogspot.co.uk/ last updated in 08! i had to email them to request a list of products and prices - a simple information based content management system website that would let them update it themselves would only cost a few £100 ...

If you are running DCC you do not need the pantograph as you can not pick up off of the overhead. As stated bypass the change over switch.

Writing from the USA. The UK on-line hobby shop "topslotsntrains" notes that the new Hornby 14xx is DCC Ready. "Hornby GWR 14XX Class 0-4-2T Steam Locomotive 4819. Hornby Trains 00 gauge model railway. The Hornby R3117 GWR 0-4-2T 14XX Class Locomotive No 4819 has GWR Livery, The GWR ...

Re: princess lizzy sparks like a good un
A sure sign that there is either some muck still on the armature or brushes. Either that or the motor is on the way out. Seriously I would not bother to much about it as those older motors do tend to spark rather a lot.

Re: The Signal Box - WARNING
Sorry but although I agree with you about being taken to the cleaners by some credit cards scum, I would be greatfull to both the bank and the Signal Box staff. How many companies take the effort to inform you that they are even suspicious that they might have been scammed and that you as a custome...

Re: Hornby service sheets
Trooper, thankyou, but if you read my posting I stated that yes, service sheets are available, but on tender driven heritage lines the sheets show both a loco driven chassis and a tender driven chassis on the same service sheet. How is one supposed to know what is what when looking at a set type ne...
