Its cheaper to paint it all one colour. The power cars are now all blue except the yellow panel at the front. Much different than the "barbie" livery.

The easiest way to stop any anaerobic adhesive getting into the phosphor bronze bearing is to put some oil onto the bearing as soon as the pinion gear is located in position. This will act as a barrier to the adhesive. The best anaerobic engineering adhesive to use is a Loctite thread or stud lock.....

I bought some ringfield gears from Peters spares. These were quoted as being good used. When I tried to fit them to the Hornby ringfield motor, they were as a good a fit as you do not want to see. The centre hole varied from 1mm to 3mm oversize. So beware of used parts from them.
