Re: Southern Garage Layout II

Any chance we can have a reminder of your invaluable modification to Hornby Points please?

Re: m.levin's layout thread

That's realy quite accomplished work Martin, most impresive.

I'm curious about the drain pipes that go half-way up the roof - never seen that before.

Re: Southern Garage Layout (old pics up to page 27 added)

One thing I particularly liked about this layout was the automatic block-control. I think there was a video once?

Equally though the scratch built houses and bridge where impressive too.

Glad to see you back :)

Re: m.levin's layout thread

Looking quite complex, and accomplished at the same time.

Love the outlined building on the right in the last couple of photos - there's something about this early stage of mapping things out that I like :)

Re: m.levin's layout thread

That's quite a view, three bridges in a row. And the model is coming along nicely too, you can already feel the atmosphere in that view along the road with the heavy shadows contrasting the pools of light between. Nice to get a glimpse of the railway room too. Will it be scenics all round? Or part s...

Re: m.levin's layout thread

Nice work Martin. The chimney stack reaching for the sky on the larger of the buildings is particularly imposing.

Re: Coach lining

Hello Martin,

The thread below has a few pointers to lining pens / bow pens. They take a little practise, but equally a skill useful to acquire :)

Thanks for the hats Eastern, I may well send a postal order for one or two of those :)

As for magnifying: I use one like this. I couldn't do without it.

Re: Frankland: N gauge Southern Railway

Many thanks Notroh.

Out of curiosity, what is your hat of preference?

Personally I quite like relaxing in a simple cap, and a Homberg for semi-formal occasions. For more workaday situations a Straw Boater seems the most appropriate ;)
