Re: m.levin's layout thread

That's quite a view, three bridges in a row. And the model is coming along nicely too, you can already feel the atmosphere in that view along the road with the heavy shadows contrasting the pools of light between. Nice to get a glimpse of the railway room too. Will it be scenics all round? Or part s...

Re: m.levin's layout thread

Nice work Martin. The chimney stack reaching for the sky on the larger of the buildings is particularly imposing.

Re: Coach lining

Hello Martin,

The thread below has a few pointers to lining pens / bow pens. They take a little practise, but equally a skill useful to acquire :)

Re: Frankland: N gauge Southern Railway

Thanks for the hats Eastern, I may well send a postal order for one or two of those :)

As for magnifying: I use one like this. I couldn't do without it.

Re: Frankland: N gauge Southern Railway

Many thanks Notroh.

Out of curiosity, what is your hat of preference?

Personally I quite like relaxing in a simple cap, and a Homberg for semi-formal occasions. For more workaday situations a Straw Boater seems the most appropriate ;)

I've had a couple of telegrammes I see. And it would be quite rude to ignore them. London calling, London calling ... Well here's an interim update of sorts for those that solely inhabit NRM ... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Aeroplane Trip Over...

Re: Trouvé - not that far from Perdu!

I was just popping by for a catch-up on Trouvé (not that far from Perdu!), but seem to have landed at rather a controversial moment  Firstly to say I'm really impressed with how things have come along - the 'ghost sign' on the side of your building is a nicely observed detail, and the extensi...

Ditto - great to see you back.

This was one of my great early inspirations and had come to think it had fallen by the wayside. So glad to learn I was wrong :)

Re: ParkeNd's Autumn Competition attempt - Railway Cottages

Just a suggestion - but cocktail sticks make good chimney pots in N gauge.

Top and tail the spikey bits, slice them down and paint them up. No fuss, little cost, quick and effective :)

Re: Corgi Tram modee'fied...in progress.

'Then a couple of rebuilds in monochrome with satin finish touching up. The backgrounds are from some tram issues, blown up by 200% , which makes me tempted to create a monochrome layout with a couple of grey scale trams to replicate old films!! Could be cool-literally !'! Certainly that would be a...
