Re: buildings now in plaster- How to fix to baseboard?

Here is the result. I glued small blocks inside the buildings, drilled a pilot through the base board then screwed from beneath to hold down the building, In addition I used clear no more nails along the edges. The clear no more nails has proved wonderful stuff. I have used it to fix down the plasti...

Re: buildings now in plaster- How to fix to baseboard?

The buildings will not get crushed as I am putting a 12" backscene around the three edges of the board. This will create an open "box" protecting all the buildings etc. on the baseboard. My current thinking is to glue small blocks into the interior corners of the building. Then to use...

buildings now in plaster- How to fix to baseboard?

A new question for everyone. I am building a layout for my son which will be stood against the wall when not in use, therefore everything needs to be securely fixed down. I have just purchased some new buildings (Hornby derelict farm) to add to some plastic ones I already have from an old layout. Th...

Re: What is the best way to stick down grass mat

OK the results of my test. The Wallpaper paste appeared to do a good job, but the following day I was able to peel it from the baseboard with ease. I believe the glue had been absorbed too easily into the baseboard. I guess this would be good if you wanted the ability to change your mind OR remove s...

What is the best way to stick down grass mat

Hi, I have some tasma grass mat which I have been told to be careful in sticking down to avoid wrinkles. It appears to have a paper backing, so I intended to use slightly watered PVA. This would give some time to adjust and smoothout. (BTW IT is a flat baseboard) Any better suggestions or is PVA the...

Re: Hornby trains on peco points

ok thanks, but the traction tyres raises a couple of more (potentially stupid) questions.... The Loco has not seen much use, so should it already have had these traction tyres fitted? (I don't think I lost them) and Why don't these traction tyres affect the tender's ability to pick up current from t...

Hornby trains on peco points

Hello, I am having some trouble with a Horby Tendered loco running over peco points. The Hornby Loco is black and has 92158 on it's cab, which I think makes it a Hornby R2105C class 9F loco. On SOME of it's wheels it not only has the normal inside flange but also a slightly smaller outside flange. W...
