Re: Newbie - now Ainsthorpe Bottom

most if not all of the lit windows have 'net' curtains to hide the interior - these were made using velum scratched with an embossing tool to make them look pleated

Re: Old Oak Common Hydraulic Heydays.

What an excellent layout and loved the camerawork. Looks like it was done with a steady cam. What did you use?

Re: Newbie - now Ainsthorpe Bottom

Well it's classic car season so I haven't done much on the layout recently. I have added some street lights and house lights to the village and done a little more scenic work. Let me know what you think. There is still a bit of work left to do on the village but i'm not sure that I'll know when to s...

Re: Pennine Models, Haworth

This is the shop that got me hooked - was on holiday in the area.

Their prices are way below anywhere loclly so i often take trips across. It's a shame they don't have a website and the only other drawback is they don't stock Bachmann. Ither than that - what a treat of a place!

Re: Homemade Static Grass Applicator

mine was £1 - used an old tea strainer and had the rest of the bits - and advance on a quid?

(is uppose if i counted the cost of the strainer and the bits of wire it must still be under £2 - the strainer was originally in a set of 3 fro m a pound shop

Re: Cheap House Lights

but if they're wired up as they are at present with the same transformer, what can go wrong? I could easily use 50 lamps, just a matter of extending the wiring surely?

Cheap House Lights

I have been thinking about lighting my buildings and I think a cheap answer is staring me in the face. Some time ago we got some lighted 'twigs' from a discount store. There must be 50 grain of sand bulbs and a suitable transformer for about a fiver. Do you think these will work? I'm not an expert b...
