Re: Hornby featured on tv
I doubt if the " pile" of second hand Tri-ang would worry Hornby, as that market is mainly a nostalgic market. What does annoy me is the continual reference to Hornby being the original company. The present Hornby only came into existence when Tri-ang went bust in the 80s I think. The pres...

Re: Class 52, Western Sound Chips?
Not a clue, but in your shoes I would contact retailers with the model(s) of interest in stock, for this information. It's a very reasonable enquiry from a potential customer. There's a secondary benefit in doing this, you stand to discover retailers that have not the remotest interest in what they...

Re: Peterborough show cancelled
I would have thought that the uncertainty of visitor numbers, the possibility of not being able to obtain insurance cover, coupled with the uncertainty of any restrictions that may be re-imposed had a factor. Also not all traders and exhibitors may feel happy in crowded situations

I would have said a better one myself. To try and repair the old Bachmann ones is nigh on impossible if mot impossible.Ironduke wrote:or here is a worse one https://www.wizardmodels.ltd/shop/locomotive/lcp36/Bigmet wrote:That's the better idea.

Re: Bachmann no longer list Hattons as a stockist
OK. I'll bite. Why? :D If it is because Hattons are now selling thier own manufactured items then why are Gaugemasters shelves full of Bachmann items? It seems they are being very choosy with retailers. One is OK yet another has been denied. It's all very odd. Thanks End2end Gaugemasters own range ...

Bachmann have not supplied Hattons since August 2018. Still if is fun reading the speculation as to why. And yes I DO KNOW WHY before anybody jumps in

Re: Great Electric Train show
Hornby themselves have taken a stand this time. The GES is organised and sponsored by the "Hornby Magazine" which is a publishing company. We let them advertise the show on here, but they kept bunging in adverts for non railway publications, so in the end we pulled the plug on them. Hornb...

Re: JAMES MAY'S BIG TROUBLE IN MODEL BRITAIN 06/03/19
Technically the Hornby models are Class 59 as there are detail differences between them and the class 66 but as SK says the price point is the crux of the matter. Not everybody wants the all singing all dancing version or for that matter can afford one. Also I feel Simon has a point when he says tha...
