Re: Small "N" Gauge Layout?

I gave surprised myself by getting large class 40s around ( 1Co-Co1 ) a first radius bend. As locoworks said, code 55 and electrofrog are the best long term option for realistic looking track. Are you going for a double track oval?

Re: Small "N" Gauge Layout?

I have managed to fit a small oval of track onto a 1.6' x 3'

Minimum radius is generally ''9 for first radius, but if using flexi you can squeeze it to 7''.

Hope it helps, daniel8910

3x Suburban coaches
1x0-4-0 freight engine
4x small wagons
2x controllers
Double track oval, with 3 sidings
Hornby station building

This would be billed as the top of the range set

Re: are we killing model railways future ourselves ??

The problem with kids and railways is that none of their friends 'do it' , so they want to fit in. If a couple/few started getting into it it would spread like wildfire, and before you know it would be a phenomenon .Kids nowadays want something instant, not something that could take decades. A lot p...

Any modellers in the east Lothian area?

Hello

Is there any modellers in the area who would like to get in contact, and be on hand for advice, or trade swaps?

Re: N Gauge semi-modular layout,

Not posted an update in a while , so what has happened on the layout ? A fair amount has been done to the first board I would say, but nothing to show of the other boards. The hill/quarry/embankment has been constructed and partly finished with ground cover. Around 40% of trackwork has been ballaste...

NRM main site still active?

Was just wondering if the main site of NRM (not the forums) was still actively updating etc.

Thanks in advance for any replies

Re: First N Gauge layout - silly idea?

looks very interesting, and promiseful! gradients are not a bad thing, i have a 1 in 15 slope on my layout, and it doesnt affect the trains (noticeably) :D

Re: 2' x 4' N gauge layout thoughts

looks very good for operational interest. An additional idea if expansion is possible would be to add an extra point to the outside loop, and create a fiddle yard? :)
