Re: What and how?

It is R2388 - don't think it is tender driven but unsure at this stage.

What and how?

Having just purchased a lovely Hornby super detailed model from Chris P of Hornby Battle Of Britain 34083 605 Squadron I need some advice. Whilst I am still not fully DCC that is the way I am slowly but surely moving. I now have this lovely model that is DC and need to convert to DCC. Can someone ad...

Re: A week on the trains

OK initial thoughts - have not worked on timings and no doubt I am expecting too much so will ditch bits as it comes together! Day 1 - HW to Marylebone to sightsee in London, Blackfriars to Brighton to stay overnight (Bluebell Line?) Day 2 - Brighton to Salisbury (Cathedral?) then to Exeter for Dawl...

Re: A week on the trains

Likelihood is that we will want to stop at various times in the day and visit more than one place per day. Some such as York we have done before but would warrant at least half a day if not more, others an hour or so. Will look at places of scenic value (dramatic coastlines etc), historical value, m...

Re: A week on the trains

A bit of googling found an interesting (if out of date site) and the NRE website confirmed some details:

7 days All lines Rover ticket standard class £464, (£306.25 with concession hopefully applicable to both!).

Now to plan what, where, when and who to tay with!

A week on the trains

My lad finishes school in June. So as he ends a month before the missus and sister I am considering taking a week off to have a father/son bonding session by travelling the country by rail. So, a few questions: 1) Assuming our first stop will be London (Marylebone) and then anyway out from there, wh...

Seethe other thread but the 'discussion' is beginning to get tedious and rowdy over there. This one now locked to save duplication.

Re: Wycrail '13 - High Wycombe - 2nd November

A good turnout at the show with the car parks full and overflowing by 10.30am. Plenty of room inside though so able to look at layouts and stands pretty well.

Saw Dave and the Cramdin crew. A few teething problems but nothing that couldn't be fixed!

Re: HS2 again.

Economically they should be trying to get people to commute to the regions rather than making it easier to get to London. An HS link to Newcastle, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Manchester would be far more beneficial but then I guess that is the next stage if this bit gets done. Paris to Madrid makes sense as...
