The station building is scratch built from mount board, the windows are left over parts from a Metcalfe kit.

Re: Anyone currently buying?
There are some items listed as a bargain in the sale such as the Thompson A2/3s in LNER livery that were the same price at £119, and £109 each before the 20% off sale!

Re: Tornado TTS Dilemma
I appreciate that the leaflet provided with the decoder makes a passing comment that some modifications may be required on older models. I don’t think Hornby’s comment really goes far enough to inform the person who purchased the decoder exactly what is involved in installing the decoder easily. In ...

Re: Seaton Junction
The rebuilt MN Pacific’s that I own have all had Albert Goodall detail parts added, such as cast white metal ash pans, cylinder drain cocks etc, which has added to the weight of these models. 35016, which is the one I have for the down ‘ACE’ pulls 12 coaches that are a mixture of Bachmann Bulleid, R...

Re: Tornado TTS Dilemma
I suppose really, that Hornby are a bit vague with the descriptions of these TTS decoder’s. They sell them, but don’t really mention that they don’t fit older versions of the loco that they are advertised to fit, without significant alterations to the wiring, and or the structure inside the loco or ...

Re: Seaton Junction
The natural light only faces onto the scenic section of the layout, I always return all trains back to the storage loops on the other side of the room. These are away from direct sunlight. 35024 still awaits it’s Devon belle headboard and wing plates. I did make a new loco tender drawbar for it thou...

Re: Seaton Junction
Hi folks, not been on my topic for a while, due to house renovations. The result is now that the property has a new roof, the chimneys have gone, I have now got velux windows in the railway room, and we have a new boiler installed in the loft space. All of this has meant that I have been able to ext...

Re: Tornado TTS Dilemma
Don't know if this will help you or not, but this is what I did to add a TTS decoder to an older model:

Re: Standard 5mt, too slow
Bit of an update. I followed your advice ‘Bigmet’ I removed the front bogie, and cut down the spring, I also removed the coupler arm, as I won’t be running tender first. I extended the spring on the leading driving axle. Finally I fitted a spare laisdcc chip that I had in the spares box. I test ran ...
