Re: Bachmann 36-568 chip

I have a number of Zimo decoders and on a Powercab it is F7 that controls shunting speed.

Re: Sound for my steam loco

Most sound decoders have two or three whistles/horns built into the programme software and all you have to do is press the whistle button on your controller when you want it to whistle!
Or am I missing something here???

These guys are pretty good with a wide range of goods, based just off the M6 in Cheshire or Lancs

Dundee MRC

The Dundee model railway club show is on this weekend, always worth a visit as we don't get many shows up this end of the UK.

Re: Loft layout

Astonishing and busy track work. The sight of all those trains picking their way through the network of points would be most dramatic. Could you be persuaded to post a bit of video? I bet it's a sight to see. I never was much of a train spotter, and being from the other side of the Atlantic, could ...

Re: Loft layout

I have started the small extension of the layout, baseboard fitted and goods shed made, thanks to Mike at Wordsworth, Track in proposed place , but may not finalised yet, more meetings about meetings, coffee and brown milk to be consumed and elf & safe tea to be considered  I need to look a...

Re: Hornby Class 20 TTS Loco in Consist

Thanks Tim, but I would like to keep my layout "authentic" to the area as much as I can. Perhaps when I eventually get a pair of Class 20 locos to run in consist, I may have to resort to something with more beef to run the track cleaner - a CMX by the way. I have a CMX track cleaner and I...

Re: Hornby Class 20 TTS Loco in Consist

You would be better using a Class 40 or 66 to push your track cleaner.

Re: Hornby Class 20 TTS Loco in Consist

I have 2 Bachmann Class 20s, I tried running them in consist with two different decoders- 1 ESU & 1 DC Concepts, using a Power cab, I could not get them to run at the same speed no matter what I tried to do with speed/voltage etc, recently I purchased two TTS decoders for the 20s and fitted a 7m...

Re: Class 20

Hi Guys The two 7mm sugar cube speakers arrived this morning, I now have a class 20 with sound. The speaker fitted into the top of the cab with two wires fed through a small hole in the cab bulk head, the speaker is totally hidden and the two thin wires look to be part of the cab interior so I am ve...

Re: Class 20

I have ordered two sugar cube speakers 7mm high, with a bit of juggling I can fit one in the top of the cab where it wont be seen. Don’t forget Forfarthian, if you connect your sugar cube speakers in parallel, it must have an impedance of 8 ohms or more, otherwise your tts decoder will blow i.e. tw...

Thanks for the info guys, onward and upward, I think a sugar cube speaker may be the answer.

Class 20

Hi all
I have bought a TTS sound decoder for one of my Class 20s, but there is no room for the speaker that comes with the decoder, any one have any suggestions or experience of fitting this speaker?
